Please support our amazing trustee, Dr Caroline Lowery-Spafford, who is taking part in this year's Derbyshire Unstrictly Fundraiser!

Caroline is stepping well outside of her comfort zone and onto the dance floor to raise money for three fantastic local charities, The Living Recovery Foundation, the Lewis Sewell trust and Rebuild

We know how much hard work, courage and commitment goes into taking part in an event like this, and we want to say a massive thank you to Caroline for putting herself out there and supporting causes that make a real difference to people's lives.

We know you're going to be absolutely amazing, Caroline, and we'll all be cheering you on every step of the way! 👏👏👏

I was only doing 2 months but I stayed for 2 years.

It’s hard to put into words what Jericho house has done for me and my family.

After 20 years of co***ne abuse there was a lot to unravel. By the time I got to Jericho house. I had burnt everything to ground. A very fractured relationship with everyone around me.

The consequences were vast to many to list. I was at the point that I couldn’t handle the highs of using and the consequences after. I really think I had 2-3 months left out there. I was dying and my mind was being push to its limit.

After a couple of years of trying to clean I landed at Jericho and the relief of landing in a safe place to finally get honest and finally be able to work on the route causes of why I took drugs.

And what a journey. There been laughter and mean belly laughter. Tears. Fun. Joy. Happiness. But most of all I was shown love and compassion. And I still feel it now. The continued support from Jericho is overwhelming.

As the title says I was only staying 2 months. But I seen the benefit of doing aftercare and it was the only thing I’ve ever completed in my life.
The relationship I have with family is amazing. I can now be the Son. Dad. Brother. Uncle. I should have been long ago.

Big massive congratulations to
Lee on 9 months 🎁

As an ex-serviceman, my life was once filled with identity, purpose, and direction. My role gave me a reason to get up every day and a sense of belonging that defined who I was. When that chapter of my life ended, it felt as though everything that made me who I was disappeared with it. I found myself alone, lost in darkness, and struggling to understand where I belonged. Addiction took hold of my life, and I reached a point where I no longer saw any value in living. I lost my marriage, my home, the people who loved me, and ultimately, I lost myself.

Nine months ago, I walked through the doors of Jericho House completely alone. I was broken, lost, and carrying the weight of everything I had destroyed. I had no direction, no hope, and no belief that life could ever be different. Everything began to change when I was introduced to the programme. For the first time, I was forced to face myself and confront the reasons why my life had turned out the way it had. It was not easy. Rebuilding my life from the ruins of what remained required honesty, courage, and perseverance. Throughout that journey, Jericho House gave me the greatest gift I could ever have received.

Jericho House is far more than a treatment centre.. it is a family. A family made up of hundreds of men who have walked the same path, faced the same battles, and fought their way back from the darkest places. We call each other brothers because that is what we are. As an ex-serviceman, I thought I had lost the camaraderie, loyalty, and sense of belonging that came with being part of something bigger than myself. Instead, I found a second family and a new army of brothers, standing shoulder to shoulder, helping one another rebuild our lives.

They helped me find a love for life again. They gave me a reason to live, taught me how to love myself, and showed me that I could create a new identity.. one built on spiritual principles, kindness, love, and compassion, rather than one that was simply given to me.

Today, I am a husband again. I smile again. I wake up happy. There was a time when I believed my story was over and that I had nothing left to give. Jericho House showed me that my darkest chapter was not the end of my story...it was the beginning of a new one.

Nine months ago, I walked into Jericho House alone. Today, I walk forward surrounded by brothers, reunited with the people I love, and with a future I never thought I would live to see. For the first time in many years, I am not just surviving.....I am truly living.
