First Stop Darlington

First Stop Darlington Provides a Wellbeing & Work Hub in Darlington and houses a range of practical & free facilities.

We provide information, advice, guidance and support to people who are experiencing difficulties in their lives that may make them vulnerable to a range of outcomes, such as debt, eviction notices, homeless, poor mental health, increased anxiety and stress, benefit problems, relationship issues. If you are just in need of a listening ear and a non-judgemental chat, maybe even some problem solving,

then First Stop is here for you. As well as one to one sessions, we provide workshops, training and activities to help people with their self confidence, improve their skills and gain pre-employment support and advice to support them in moving forward with their lives. We help you make sense of your benefit commitments and to make sure you do not get sanctioned or have benefits removed inappropriately. We also provide activities that help to reduce anxiety and relieve stress, such as our bespoke 7 Steps to Self Confidence course, peer led Art/Craft Sessions and take part in outdoor activities when weather appropriate too. We offer free computer courses aimed at taking learners from the basic use of the computer to using the internet/email/using software packages such as word and spreadsheets. We are happy to adapt our courses to suit the needs of learners. Courses are aimed at anyone over the age of 18 who wishes to know more about using computers and helping them progress their IT skills.
