We are so incredibly proud to announce that the amazing Jessica McCabe is a finalist in the GAVO Volunteering Awards 2026!

Jess was nominated because of her incredible efforts in bringing The Book Nook to life!
Jess has brought a dream to life by refurbishing a tired, old library space, transforming it into a thriving, community pay-what-you-can book store!
Her passion for books and reading is profound, and to be able to share that with members of the community, both young and old, is simply marvelous!

By dedicating her time and effort and creating such a successful venture, Jess has helped breathe new life into Cwmcarn Institute.

Working as part of an amazing team of volunteers to build on the success of The Book Nook, Cwmcarn Institute is going from strength to strength. Ensuring that our local heritage remains
as important as our future.

On behalf of all of the Trustees and Committee, we wish Jess all the best of luck in winning this well deserved award.... but in our eyes (we're sure you'll agree) she's already a winner!! 🏆
