Proposed Changes to Our Youth Club Sessions – We’d Love Your Feedback!
At Congresbury Youth Partnership, we are always looking at ways to make our youth work delivery the best that it can be for the young people who attend. Over the past year we’ve reviewed attendance, staffing, activities and the way we deliver our sessions to ensure we are providing the greatest benefit for as many young people in the village as possible.
From this review we are proposing some changes to our regular youth club programme from our return in September, which we plan to run as a trial until April 2027 in which time we will initiate a full review for going forward
What’s Changing?
Our proposed changes for Wednesday youth clubs are:
3.20-5pm Junior Session (unchanged)
5.30-7pm Yr 7 & 8’s Session
7.30-9pm Yr9+ Session
Code club will remain unchanged
As part of this proposal, we are looking to reduce the number of holiday activity sessions that we deliver as attendance is generally lower at these, to focusing more of our resources on regular weekly youth clubs. By doing this we hope to provide more consistent support, build stronger relationships with young people and ensure that staffing is available where it has the greatest impact.
We recognise that holiday activities are valued by many families and young people in the village, and we are not looking to remove them altogether. Instead, we want to explore the right balance between regular term-time provision and holiday programmes.
Why Are We Proposing These Changes?
The aim is to provide more opportunities for young people to attend regular weekly sessions while ensuring we can continue to offer a safe, fun and engaging environment.
We hope these changes will allow us to:
-Provide more consistent youth work throughout the year.
-Offer age-appropriate activities and discussions.
-Improve staffing at every session so young people receive more support when they need it.
-Create a safer environment with improved staff-to-young-person ratios.
-Deliver fewer but higher-quality holiday activities and trips, with sufficient staffing to make them more ambitious, engaging and enjoyable.
-Continue building strong relationships with young people through regular weekly sessions.
Trial Period
These changes are being proposed as a 6 month trial until April 2027
Throughout the trial we will be reviewing:
Attendance across all sessions.
Participation in holiday activities.
Feedback from young people.
Feedback from parents and carers.
Young people’s enjoyment and engagement.
Whether the balance between weekly youth clubs and holiday activities is meeting the needs of our community.
The feedback we receive will help us decide how holiday provision should be delivered in the future. If the trial shows that changes are needed, we will use your views alongside attendance data and staff experience to shape the programme going forward.
We Want to Hear From You
Therefore, before we finalise these changes, we’d really like to hear what you think.
Whether you’re excited about the proposal, have questions, or think something could work better, your feedback is important to us and will help shape the future of our youth provision.
Please share your thoughts with a member of staff, email us at [email protected]
These changes will start with out first sessions back as of 9th September
We value your input and thank you for continuing to support CongresburyYouth Partnership.
