We are looking for a volunteer receptionist to join the team and cover alternate Tuesday mornings - if you’re interested we’d love to hear from you!

It is Mental Health Awareness week but awareness is needed at all times, not just this week.

It does remind us however that anyone struggling to carry their burden can reach out. There are services out there such as ours who can offer a space to talk, to unload and to breathe, in a safe space.

Just making contact is part of the healing process and shows no weakness.

Our waiting list is not too long at the moment, especially for daytime appointments, so please get in touch.

Congratulations and very well done to Molly King on running the London Marathon yesterday. It must have been tough in the warm weather but Molly smashed it! Molly has raised over £3000 towards our work and it’s not too late if anyone still wants to donate to her achievement either! Thanks to all who have sponsored and supported her. Molly you are a star!

2 Volunteer Receptionists needed

1 for alternate Tuesday evenings and 1 for alternate Friday mornings (from September 2026)

Our receptionists are important members of the team as they assist our Counsellors by:
• providing a warm and friendly welcome to our clients when they arrive for their appointments,
• being discreet & treating everyone with kindness and respect,
• setting up, taking telephone messages, booking appointments.

Would you be prepared to give 3–4 hours of your time on alternate Tuesday evenings or alternate Friday mornings?

It is our policy not to provide counselling sessions to clients if we do not have a receptionist on duty, therefore, our reception team are absolutely vital to our service.

We are so excited that Molly King is running the London Marathon in 10 weeks’ time, raising money for Vine!

Molly has been organising fundraisers for the last few months in order to try and raise her target of £2000 and she is well on her way to this, in addition to training for the big day. She has organised a quiz that is taking place at The Manor Inn, Newtons Road, Kewstoke, BS22 9LP on Thursday 26th February 2026 at 8pm. It only costs £2 per person to enter and there will be a raffle too.

Message from Director Liz Linnitt:-

2025 has been a year of lots of positivity and growth at Vine, with a few challenges too for good measure!

A year when we have provided over 3500 one to one face to face sessions for people from our community, supporting them with a variety of issues such as bereavement, loneliness, trauma, self esteem, abuse, depression, anxiety, stress.
A year when by working as a team we have managed to maintain our ethos to keep client sessions at a low cost level.

As we come to the end of the year, I just want to say thank you to the whole team at Vine, without whom the charity simply wouldn’t continue. From the commitment and strength of my right hand woman Tracy, from the kindness of the receptionists to the professionalism and expertise of our counsellors, to the ethics and support of the trustees and treasurer each one is important and appreciated.

2026 will no doubt bring its own challenges and rewards but we are ready! We renew our commitment to support our community with mental health support with the means we have available to us.

Although we are closed now until 5th January there is help and support available if you are struggling.
