Awright folks?

If your son is around first or second year age, quite heavy, short has a short black haircut wearing blue puffer jacket orange shorts and jumps about with a wee guy that wears a cream coloured Nike tracksuit top possibly live in the Old Monkland area and they’ve came home looking like they’ve seen a ghost tonight I’d advise you to get them to the polis ASAP.

They’ve run into my 72 year old mum with an E-Scooter in Ailsa Road on the pavement tonight and put her into hospital in a serious condition.
If the maw and da want to do the decent thing contact me or the polis police are searching for them.

Post below is my mums neighbour

A massive thank you to our MP Frank McNally for taking the time to send such a thoughtful and genuine message of support for our community achievement in securing Rural Rest. ❤️

This support matters hugely. When local people, communities, council and government work together, we can create a better way of doing things. That chain of people power, joined with the right support from government, can make change happen much more smoothly.

This is why people vote for change — to see people working together, listening and backing ideas that can make a real difference.
It certainly feels like the right people are backing Rural Rest, and for that, we are incredibly grateful. 🌿❤️

Thank you so much Frank McNally MP

Recognition Matters

A lovely message received today

A huge thank you to the public figures who have seen our journey, recognised the need and supported our vision for Rural Rest.

And a special thank you to Jackie Baillie for her clear and genuine support. Recognition at this level strengthens our determination to keep pushing forward.

The need is clear. The vision is clear. Now it’s about making Rural Rest happen.

Thank you 🙏
Jackie Baillie

RURAL REST — THE COST OF DELAY

North Lanarkshire does not need more evidence that our communities need support.

Su***de mortality is significantly higher than the Scottish average.

Alcohol-specific mortality is significantly higher than the Scottish average.
85 drug-misuse deaths were recorded in North Lanarkshire in 2024.

Scotland recorded 1,017 drug-misuse deaths and 1,185 alcohol-specific deaths in 2024.
These are people, families and communities — not just statistics.

Rural Rest has already secured the land and developed a community-led vision centred on mental health, social connection, prevention, nature and wellbeing.

North Lanarkshire Council has recognised the potential of Rural Rest as an outdoor wellbeing and community asset.

THE COST OF DELAY
The cost of the fence is small compared with the public and social value being left unrealised every day Rural Rest cannot begin.
Every day of delay means another day without:

connection.
belonging.
volunteering.
positive activity.
nature-based wellbeing.
early intervention.
community opportunity.

The fence is not the destination.
It is the key that unlocks the whole project.
Rural Rest should not continually have to fight to demonstrate a need that the statistics already make glaringly obvious.

The need is proven.
The land is secured.
The vision is ready.

What is missing is the support to turn that opportunity into something the public can actually use.

The cost of delay is greater than the cost of helping us start.

North Lanarkshire Council — let's see that support in action.

Stop the delay. Unlock Rural Rest. Let the community feel better .

Everything is going well folks this post is simply to highlight Rural Rest is ready but process & time clearly out our hands I'll keep everyone posted.
