We had a really good turnout at our April meeting we made our plans for the year ahead; Trish joined us to speak about the recruitment process and a few of our TAG members are now involved in the current panel to interview for staff which is really positive. Lastly, we said our goodbyes to Carole the SDM from Key and Alistair joined us for her retirement presentation.

We had a really busy meeting first meeting of the year! We voted for a new Chairperson, congrats to Andy! We worked on contributing to TAG's Manifesto for the up coming Scottish Elections. We also got behind the Unite Union campaign for fair pay for Social Care workers, we talked about a local issue and decided to write to the council regarding a nearby road crossing that is causing issues. A jam packed meeting!!

We had a spooktacular meeting today and we had some old and new members come along, and some of the costumes were fab we discussed the plan’s for our upcoming December meeting/Party and this will take place at St Pat’s Hall Coatbridge on the 10th December 12.30 -3.30pm remember and wear something festive.

It was a bit of a tight squeeze in the meeting room at Coatbridge so we discussed the need to look at alternative options for our future meetings due to the increased size of members attending and everyone agreed that it would be a good idea to hold further meetings alternating between St Pat’s, Muirfield Centre and Bellshill Cultural Centre.

We also had some very sad news about the passing of Liza who was our NL TAG chairperson, Liza was a kind and fun-loving person and loved a quiz so we thought it would be fitting to end our meeting today by doing a Halloween Quiz in her memory. Everyone really enjoyed this and it lifted everyone’s mood.

We had a very successful fundraising event on the 6th of August, after a lot planning and preparing we were so pleased that it was such a success and everyone had a great time. We managed to raise £401.16 from selling raffle, bingo and tombola tickets. We had a vote on how to spend this and everyone voted that some of the funds should go towards organising a TAG Christmas Party.

We were invited along today to use the meeting room at Empower in the Coatbridge Business Centre and the lovely Yvonne who runs this told us all about Empower. She explained that they are a non-profitable organisation which provides care & support and respite to adult’s with additional needs. Yvonne went over the range of ASN activities they also offer which include dance, music and cookery classes, karaoke, Boccia & games. The classes run every day Monday to Friday and some of our NL TAG Members have signed up to attend some of the classes. They also have a sensory room which you can hire and Yvonne invited us in to have a look around it, everyone enjoyed spending some chilled time in it afterwards.
