Chippenham Lions Club

Chippenham Lions Club Our aim is to raise funds to help those less fortunate than ourselves.

We hold a number of fundraising events throughout the year to help us to do this and we aim to raise more than £20,000. By raising this money and by helping others gives us all a great deal of personal satisfaction. We are also able offer our services to groups; for example assisting The PHAB Club of Chippenham on their annual outing, St. Nicolas School with their Annual Picnic in John Coles Park

and delivering Christmas meals on the 25th December to those who are frail and on their own on this special day. Our two main fundraisers are our Cherished Vehicle Show held on the first Sunday of June and our Carol Float, which tours the streets of Corsham & Chippenham during the month of December.

When chippenham lions aren’t raising money for our local community we like to have social time.

Today was our annual BBQ organised by our amazing social committee.

We came together in a beautiful location with the sun shining and delicious food.

We have a new President. It's all change at the top.

The 1st of July marks the start of a new Lions year and brings with it a change of leadership. To mark the occasion we have a Changeover Dinner with chains of office being passed onwards and this year Richard Adams succeeds Derek Angell as our President.

Every year the President choses his/her charities to support and this year President Richard has chosen two charities:

Doorway who are based in Chippenham and who offer a safe, warm and friendly space providing support and advice for rough sleepers and those in urgent need. They collaborate with local statutory services and other local organisations and groups to provide help with crisis support and to improve the chances of people finding and keeping long-term accommodation.

And Wiltshire Sight who hold monthly support sessions for people with sight problems in both Chippenham and Corsham. These number around 180 blind and partially sighted people. These sessions offer practical advice, and friendship, and the opportunity to meet others who understand the challenges of living with sight loss.

The club will, of course, also continue to support other local charities and you can see how we donated our funds in previous years by going to the Community Service menu item on our website.

From Waste Not Want Not.

We are thrilled to have secured a grant of £1,500 from the Chippenham Lions Club towards our Fresh Start programme.

Last night our Charity Manager Annalisa, attended the Chippenham Lions Club presentation evening and, along with another twenty-four local charities and voluntary groups received the wonderful news.

Over the past 12 months, through their fundraising events, the Chippenham Lions have raised £40,000 for local causes! What an incredible achievement.

We are incredible grateful to the Lions for their hard work and dedication in supporting our local community.

If you would like to support one of their fundraising events, the Lions are looking for volunteers for their Carol Float which runs from 1st December to 20th December. Anyone interested please contact [email protected]
