Ever wondered where a footpath in Chippenham might lead? πŸ€” You might find out, as some new green and blue wayfinding signage has been installed to help people navigate the town's footpath network between key destinations.

The project by Chippenham Town Council and Our Wiltshire was designed to deliver on the identified Neighbourhood Plan infrastructure requirement of improved waymarking signage to the footpath and cycle network.

Signage locations were chosen using evidence gathered by the Neighbourhood Plan Transport Topic Group and recommendations of the Chippenham Wayfinding Report 2022.

➑️ Nomination of The Rose & Crown PH as an Asset of Community Value
➑️ Consultation response to proposed changes to the NPPF. The unfair rule remains that neighbourhood plan policies are not protected when it comes to housing development unless they contain their own housing allocations or are less than 5yrs old.

The Planning, Environment and Transport Committee will meet on Thursday at 7pm in the Town Hall.

It's nearly Christmas folks and that can only mean one thing - yes another version of the NPPF produced by the government for consultation! πŸ‘€

The Town Council's PET Committee will be reviewing the consultation draft in due course and seeing if there are any implications for neighbourhood planning.

Last week the Neighbourhood Plan Monitoring Sub-Committee agreed the latest 6 month Monitoring Report on the Plan. You can read the Monitoring Report on Chippenham Town Council Agendas and Minutes page at https://tinyurl.com/NPMSC181225

Finally, a checklist has been produced to assist developers, planners and stakeholders know which Neighbourhood Plan policies might be applicable in the assessment of common types of planning application in Chippenham. The checklist also specifies what information is required to be submitted in order to comply with specific policies.

The checklist can be viewed on the 'Useful Links' section of the Neighbourhood Plan website: https://chippenhamneighbourhoodplan.org.uk
