Our friends at Chippenham Big Bike Revival are putting on FREE Cycle repair events and beginners ride events throughout the summer. The first FREE repair event is at Eco-Future Fest Sunday 14th June at the Neeld Community & Arts Centre and the first ride event with FREE refreshments is Sunday 28th June. Welcome to the new Chippenham Big Bike Revival page!
Following a successful application to Cycling UK and their campaign, i'm delighted to share the FREE support events that Cycle Chippenham will be running in Chippenham, Wiltshire, to help you cycle locally.

We will be running two FREE Cycle check and repair events and four easy guided rides around Chippenham with FREE refreshments .
We will also shortly be able to offer FREE updated Chippenham Cycle maps showing safer routes to cycle in Chippenham.

The first of our FREE repair events is Sunday 14th June 2026 as part of Chippenham Town Council's FREE Eco-Future Fest. There's no need to register in advance with us for this but we may need to give you a time slot on the day depending how busy it gets. We will need to collect a name and email address from over 18's as part of our funding requirements. We can carry out simple repairs and safety checks puncture repairs, brake checks, gear adjustments etc
We should also have some FREE updated Chippenham Cycle maps.

We have two FREE rides exploring nature in Chippenham - Bicycles, Trees, and Teas. All Big Bike Revival rides are intended to encourage adult beginners, improvers, or returners. Under 18s will need a responsible adult to accompany them.
This is a relatively easy flat ride mostly off road. We will start at the Wiltshire History Centre and the Rooted community garden, with stops at Avon Needs Trees and the Tiny Forest, ending in Monkton Park with FREE refreshments at the 10th Hole Tea Rooms.

We have two new FREE circular town rides exploring car free paths and quieter roads to get around Chippenham, with FREE refreshments half way at Derriards Pond. Again this is intended to encourage adult beginners, improvers, or returners. Under 18s will need a responsible adult to accompany them. We will need to collect a name and email address from over 18's as part of our funding requirements.

I was delighted to meet with the Melksham Environment Group last night at the Melksham Community Campus to explain the Zero Chippenham Community Solar Buying scheme. We're pleased to announce that the Melksham Environment Group (MEG) will be joining the Zero Chippenham Community Solar scheme as partners. Our scheme offers free impartial solar and battery advice to homes and small businesses, and a free no obligation quotation from a trusted local solar and battery installer. MEG join Zero Chippenham's existing environmental partner groups Sustainable Sherston, Sustainable Calne, and RWB Environmental, with over 60 solar installations in Chippenham and the surrounding Towns and Villages - Matthew
