We'll be fundraising for our food bank this Saturday at Fete in the Park - Petworth & the Chichester Gala! 🎉

We'll have a tombola with lots of great prizes donated by generous local businesses - so please do come and say hello and buy a ticket if you can.

All funds will help us continue to helping local people on the lowest incomes with emergency food and practical support.

⚠️Our weekly walking group in Petworth tomorrow (Thursday 25 June) has been CANCELLED due to extreme heat weather warnings.⚠️

We look forward to welcoming you on a walk next Thursday, in cooler weather!

A Red Heat Warning has been issued for Wednesday, with very high temperatures expected. We want to make sure everyone stays safe and well.

If possible, please only attend our Wednesday food bank session in Chichester (9:30am-11:30am) if you have an urgent need and please take extra care:

💧 Stay well hydrated, especially if walking
🚌 Public transport and buses without air con will be very warm
🚗 If getting here is difficult, someone else can collect on your behalf

Our food bank centre is not air conditioned but we have seating, water and fans to make things as comfortable as we can.

Friday is expected to be cooler, so our session from 4-6pm may be a better option if your need isn’t urgent.

A red heat-health alert has been issued across parts of England until 25 June. This is the highest level of alert and indicates a risk to everyone's health, not just vulnerable groups.

🌡️Due to the extremely high temperatures predicted over the next few days, we will be putting in place our Severe Weather Escalation Protocol (SWEP) Wednesday and Thursday 24 and 25 June. SWEP is part of a package of ongoing support that is available to those who are homeless or rough sleeping throughout the year. SWEP offers additional support during severe weather to respond to the heightened risk for rough sleepers during this time. Our outreach team works in partnership with local services and charities including Stonepillow, and they are out every day offering support. They will continue to be out and about making sure that rough sleepers are aware of the SWEP provision as well as the ongoing support that is available to them.
To access emergency support, rough sleepers should contact Stonepillow in St Cyriacs, Chichester. Anyone that needs to access the service outside of these hours can contact the out of hours team on 01243 785339.
Please pass this message on to anyone who may need it. If you are concerned about someone who is rough sleeping, please report via the Streetlink app or the link in our comments section, which will be sent directly to our outreach services.

You are warmly invited to a Choral Evensong with Thanksgiving, held in partnership with Chichester Cathedral from 3:00–5:00pm on Sunday 5 July.

This special event will be an opportunity to celebrate what we have achieved together as a community over the past decade, supporting local people in crisis with emergency food and practical help, while working to tackle the root causes of poverty.

We will also take time to reflect on the ongoing challenges facing our community and how, together, we can build a future where no one reaches crisis point or is unable to afford food.

The service will be followed by a tea and cake reception.
