DUWC 2026 Annual Report - Please share https://www.duwc.org.uk/wp-content/uploads/2026/10/DUWC-Annual-Report-2026-13989_LRES.pdf

A wonderful display donated to Derbyshire Unemployed Workers' Centres (DUWC) by the wonderful Norma Dolby former Chair of North East Derbyshire District Council and veteran of the Women's Action Groups during the Miners' Strike. DUWC has helped scores of forces veterans over the years. The horrors of war have affected so many people, ended and damaged so many lives. We must all work to resolve conflict without resorting to violence and our only fight should be for justice and a world where all can live in peace.

Tonight is the John Knight Memorial Lecture that this year will be give by Chris Peace of the Orgreave Truth and Justice Campaign. The reasons why we are hosting this event tonight are memorably put by Joanne Gordon in this piece that went out on Radio Sheffield shortly after John died after contracting Covid in the Royal Hospital.

It is three years now since Elisa McDonagh cycled 46 times up Loads Rd / Longside Rd to raise funds for the Derbyshire Unemployed Workers' Centres. A fantastic effort that raised nearly £5000 towards our work. What a day that was! The Centre needs your support now more than ever as the funding environment for the Voluntary and Community sector becomes ever more precarious. Please donate if you are able https://www.duwc.org.uk/donate/
