We are a group of people who aim to put service to others above the needs of ourselves. We work tirelessly throughout the year to raise funds and give support to local, national and international good causes.

Medway Sunlight Rotary has again this year arranged for the poppies on the bridge to St Mary's Island.

For our island and for Medway the poppies remember the thousands of sailors and military who have gone World wide to protect us.

The Poppy Appeal gives help and support to them. So remember to get your poppy.

Great to be out on the Island planting Daffodils and crocus bulbs with Rotary members, CMT staff and residents. Thanks to everyone that helped, we finished just before the rain started.

Here is our latest update on Bulb Planting Day on St Mary's Island!!!

This coming Saturday is Bulb Planting Day . . . . .

Look out for the gazebo at the top of the wooden steps to the path and to the dog exercise area up from Island Way East from 10.00am onwards.

There you will find ground prepared by Gavin Jones contractors and people helping you to plant hundreds of daffodil bulbs and 8,000 purple crocus bulbs. Bring a rake or trowel. We have dibbers. Wear sensible footwear.

As well as Chatham Maritime Trust getting ready for Spring , Saturday is also World Polio Day.

Medway Sunlight Rotary is joining with Rotary groups across the World to mark being very, very close to ending the threat of poliomyelitis. Purple is the colour of the ink used to mark a child's little finger as they are being vaccinated somewhere in the World against polio.

Come and join us -- we will be there until noon.

Just five days to go and we ask you to get that rake out of the garden shed and come and join us bulb planting!!!!

Saturday is World Polio Day and alongside Chatham Maritime Trust planting daffodils will be Medway Sunlight Rotary bringing thousands of purple crocus corms to plant too. All helped by contractors Gavin Jones.

We invite you to come and help both to continue improving our island but also remembering that we are almost there in banishing poliomyelitis for ever.

Planting is beside the footpaths near the dog exercise area reached from Island Way East from 10.00am to 12 noon. See you there!

Come and join us -- the Trust, Medway Sunlight and Gavin Jones contractors to plant hundreds -- no thousands -- of daffodils and purple crocus.

Not just for every Spring but to mark World Polio Day.

All ages welcome -- bring a rake too!

How about some news for you from us!

The concert with Harmony on Saturday at St Mary's Island was enjoyed by over 80 people. The music and singing was fantastic and a very useful sum will be going to the Maidstone Hospital Oncology Department.

Our Big Business Networking Breakfast last Thursday had close to 40 come along to hear about Chatham Maritime Trust and more about Rotary. There were some potential new members of Medway Sunlight Rotary --- if you want to know more about us email [email protected] and we can arrange to meet . . . . .

Thank you for your post 21 Together

🚣‍♀️ A big thank you to Medway Sunlight Rotary! 💙

We were delighted to receive a fantastic £322 donation following the Dragon Boat Race in May!

With 50% of the money raised coming to 21 Together and the other 50% supporting Sunlight Rotary’s chosen charity, it was wonderful to see the event raising funds for local causes while bringing the community together.

We loved being part of such a brilliant day, bringing businesses from our network together as a team, alongside other local organisations and charities. There was plenty of teamwork, fun and community spirit — both on and off the water! 🐉🚣‍♂️

Thank you to Sunlight Rotary, everyone who took part, and everyone who helped make the event such a success. Your support makes a real difference to the work we do.

And of course… we’re already looking forward to getting back on the water next year! 🌊💙
