A huge thank you to Pete Canning and the Wakefield Branch of the REA!

On 5 September, Pete is taking on an incredible 15-mile walk along the Leeds & Liverpool Canal from Shipley to Skipton, joined by four fellow members of the Wakefield Branch, - Mick, Ian, Lynne and Nigel!

At 75 years old, with one knee replacement, another troublesome knee Pete already knows this "one is going to hurt"!

But that hasn’t stopped Pete and the team from taking on the challenge to raise £1,000 for The Sapper Charity.

Their message is simple: “Throw a pound in the pot” — and help support serving Sappers, veterans and their families when they need it most!

Thank you for going the extra mile for The Sapper Charity!!

Good luck team :)

Could proposed changes to legislation affect veterans who served in Northern Ireland?

Parliament is currently considering the Northern Ireland Troubles Bill, and many across the Armed Forces community are following the debate closely.

The SHOULDER TO SHOULDER campaign has created a website that provides further information on the proposed legislation and enables individuals, families and supporters to contact their MP should they wish to do so. The process takes just a few minutes.

This November, it’s your turn to take to the grid at one of the world’s most iconic racing circuits and make every mile count for the Royal Engineers family.

Your fundraising could help a veteran facing hardship.
Your miles could support a Sapper family when they need it most.
And your challenge could help ensure that no Sapper faces life’s challenges alone.

With exclusive behind-the-scenes access and the chance to meet the Royal Engineers Motorsport Team, this is more than just a race — it’s your chance to run for others and make every lap count.

We ask all charity runners to commit to raising a minimum of £200 for The Sapper Charity.

🏁 The grid is waiting.
