This morning McNabb & Phil met Nikky & Steve from the GCAT Glenkens Land & Livelihoods Initiative. This is an exciting place-based project, exploring the potential for nature recovery activities in the Glenkens. They are a fellow recipient of NatureScot Nature Restoration Fund development support and we are working closely to align with our ‘Wood-Wide Network’ project.

Are you organised, practical, IT literate and good at finding solutions?

Would you like to do a varied role that makes a real difference in your local community?

Galloway Community Transport is looking for a Transport Coordinator to join our small team in New Galloway.

We’re looking for a practical all-rounder who can organise bookings, work with customers, drivers and volunteers, use Excel and keep things running smoothly but who is also happy to get stuck in with the practical side of things, from checking tyre pressures to washing a vehicle!

🚐 21 hours per week
📍 Based in New Galloway
💼 Permanent position
💷 £14,687 per annum
🏠 Flexible working by arrangement
📅 Closing date: 12 noon, Friday 18 September

Full training and support will be provided, including minibus driving training where required.

Over the last few years, we’ve been continuously listening to children, young people and families about what they want from CatStrand Creatives.

We been using that feedback to shape what we do, and to help us raise the funding to actually make it happen.

Over the last few years, we’ve brought in funding and support through organisations including Glenkens & District Trust, YouthLink Scotland, Young Start and the Youth Music Initiative, helping us turn some of those ideas into actual activity in the Glenkens.

There’s still plenty we can do yet. That’s why the next part matters just as much:

If you’re a child or young person locally, we want to hear what you’d like to learn, make, perform, try or change.
