We are very excited to receive delivery of our new 12 seater all-electric Ford Transit today. Yet to receive its official GCT livery, but looking very smart. It is also capable of transporting up to 2 x wheelchair users.
Our decarbonisation journey continues!

GIG BUS NEWS!
After a successful launch earlier this month, we are going to be running our new "Gig Bus" initiative for a handful of other events coming up at the CatStrand. If you feel like leaving the car at home, and having the stress of travelling taken away for the evening, why not check out the options here?:

We promised you an update this week....here it is...our new dedicated GCT electric vehicle chargepoint has been installed at the CatStrand car park. This further builds on our decarbonisation pledge, and will allow GCT electric vehicles to be charged without relying 100% on the public chargepoints. Please note, this is NOT a public charger. Many thanks to Lotus Electrical Services Ltd for the installation, and thanks to our funders, Plugged-in Communities, for making this happen!

The world may have gone a bit mad, but here at Galloway Community Transport we are keeping our heads firmly screwed on and forging ahead with the decarbonisation of our minibus fleet. As well as securing a use for our previous electric bus (more news in due course), we have received a progress report for our new ELECTRIC Ford Transit, due for delivery before the end of March this year. Here are some photos of the conversion in progress at GM Coachworks...looking forward to seeing the finished article!

NEW INITIATIVE FOR 2026!

Galloway Community Transport are proud to be working in partnership with the CatStrand, by providing a sustainable transport option for people who can't drive / don't want to drive to selected live performances.
The service will operate where there is most demand, so please select your pick up location when booking. Spaces are limited, so please book early!
Pick up timings to be determined once passenger numbers and locations are finalised.

James Yorkston is a singer-songwriter and author from the East Neuk of Fife, Scotland and former Fence Collective member. Since signing to Domino Records in 2001, James has released a steady flow of highly acclaimed albums, leading to him touring his music worldwide.

As the New Year beckons, you may be thinking of new opportunities or perhaps you are looking to help out in the community?
Galloway Community Transport are on the search for drivers to help with our services, in particular in the Kirkcudbright and Castle Douglas areas. There are various opportunities: regular paid driving (on a self employed basis); ad hoc paid driving work; general volunteer driving / patient transport volunteering.

With the festive season quickly approaching (seems like it was only a year ago!), we still have a handful tickets available for our Christmas shopping trip to Carlisle via Gretna (Caledonia Park), which takes place on Tuesday 9th December. We are also running our local shopping run on Wednesday 17th December.
