We're looking for a Transport Coordinator to join our small team in New Galloway.

This is a varied, hands-on role involving everything from organising bookings and working with customers, drivers and volunteers, to using Excel and helping keep our vehicles on the road - including practical jobs such as checking tyre pressures and washing vehicles!

🚐 21 hours per week
📍 New Galloway
🏠 Flexible working by arrangement
📅 Closing date: 12 noon, Friday 18 September

Full training and support will be provided, including minibus driving training where required.

🚐 GCT Drivers Come Together to Share Ideas and Shape the Future

On Friday morning, we welcomed 11 of our volunteer and self-employed drivers to the CatStrand Café for our latest Galloway Community Transport drivers' meeting. It was fantastic to have drivers representing all areas of our service, including member hires, school transport and patient transport.

We were also pleased to welcome Jackie Wells from Third Sector Dumfries & Galloway, who recently joined the organisation in a new transport role.

The meeting sparked plenty of discussion, covering everything from the recruitment of our new Galloway Community Transport Manager, to the developing strategic role of community transport across the region, driver training, EV charging developments and ideas for improving how we deliver our services.

Of course, no GCT drivers' meeting would be complete without coffee, cake and a catch-up! ☕🍰

A huge thank you to all of our drivers for the time, dedication and care they give to keeping our communities connected.

We are very excited to receive delivery of our new 12 seater all-electric Ford Transit today. Yet to receive its official GCT livery, but looking very smart. It is also capable of transporting up to 2 x wheelchair users.
Our decarbonisation journey continues!

We promised you an update this week....here it is...our new dedicated GCT electric vehicle chargepoint has been installed at the CatStrand car park. This further builds on our decarbonisation pledge, and will allow GCT electric vehicles to be charged without relying 100% on the public chargepoints. Please note, this is NOT a public charger. Many thanks to Lotus Electrical Services Ltd for the installation, and thanks to our funders, Plugged-in Communities, for making this happen!
