A fun, friendly music school for young people aged 8-16 years, running on Saturdays during term time only at CatStrand Creatives.

Young musicians can learn, play and build confidence with a professional music tutor in:

🎤 Singing
🌈 Ukulele
🎧 Music Technology

Whether they’re just starting out or already love making music, Saturday Music Makers is all about learning new skills, playing favourite songs, making friends and having fun.

Are you aged 13–17 and interested in art, creativity, events, making friends, and having your voice heard?

Creative Art Reps is a new social arts group for teens, run by teens, for teens.

You’ll get the chance to:
✨ Meet other creative young people
✨ Share ideas and shape the programme
✨ Help plan fun events, workshops, takeovers and socials
✨ Build skills through Arts Award opportunities
✨ Make things, try new things, and be part of something brilliant

This is a space to create, connect and represent - whether you already love art or just want to try something new.

We’re developing a range of creative pathways for young adults who want to build skills, gain experience and take their next steps in the creative industries.

Upcoming opportunities will include:

- Visual Art

✨ Filmmaking Pathway and work experience
✨ Visual Art Futures Bootcamp
✨ Theatre collaboration for ages 17+

These opportunities are designed to support young creatives to gain real experience, grow in confidence, build portfolios and explore future creative work.

Paid Work Opportunity:
Create and Curate Trainee
18 - 25years

We’re looking for a creative to help lead a visual arts project for young people this summer.

You’ll work alongside a professional artist and project team to help plan creative workshops, support young participants, and organise a final art exhibition.

This is a supported mentorship role, so you don’t need lots of experience - just a strong interest in art, creativity, working with young people, events or exhibitions.

Fee: £500
Time commitment: Approx. 33 hours
Age: 18-25
Location: CatStrand, New Galloway

You’ll gain experience in:

- Supporting creative workshops
- Working with young people
- Planning a summer arts project
- Organising an exhibition
- Working with a professional artist
- Building confidence as a young creative leader

DG Amplify: Creative Futures Music Mentorship Programme is coming soon.

This is a new mentorship opportunity designed to help musicians aged 16+ to take the next step in building a music career.

The programme will offer support with the business side of music, alongside mentorship to help musicians develop confidence, direction and practical knowledge.

Places will be limited, and applicants will need to apply for the opportunity.
