St John Ambulance Cymru Carmarthen

St John Ambulance Cymru Carmarthen The First Aid Charity for Wales. Your donations help us to save lives in Carmarthenshire.

As the nation's leading first aid charity, we offer training and support to people across Wales. Care to those in need is free but it costs us as a charity to provide it. We receive no core government funding and rely on private donations and income from first aid training to fund our charitable works.

In our Volunteer Spotlight today is Deputy Manager, Sion. As well as assisting Richard with the day to day running of division, Sion also has the important job of looking after Lemmy, the Division Mascot! Fun Fact: Sion was a St John Cadet way back in the last century and swears they had steam powered ambulances and everything was in black and white!

This week we are celebrating our wonderful volunteers at Carmarthen Division. Our dedicated team gives up hundreds of hours covering duties, community events, community hubs, providing free first aid training for schools and community groups. Without them our division would not exist! This week we will be showcasing some of our volunteers and what they do!

“The Princess Royal recently joined St John Ambulance to celebrate the 40th anniversary of their National Cadet of the Year Competition ✨🚑

As Youth Commandant-in-Chief of St John Ambulance, Princess Anne met cadet winners spanning four decades of the competition — including the very first National Cadet of the Year from 1987.

The event highlighted not only forty years of achievement, dedication, and community service by young volunteers, but also Princess Anne’s own longstanding commitment to supporting youth development and public service organizations throughout her royal life.

For decades, The Princess Royal has been widely respected for the seriousness and consistency she brings to her patronages, often maintaining close relationships with charities and organizations far beyond the public spotlight.

Her continued support of St John Ambulance reflects that same quiet dedication — recognizing generations of young people who have devoted their time to helping others through first aid, volunteering, and emergency support.

Forty years of cadets.
Forty years of service.
And a Princess Royal who continues to champion them with the same unwavering commitment. 👑❤️
