After three years of dedicated leadership as our CEO, we are saying goodbye to our Andrew Belcher as he moves on to a new chapter.

Since joining Stori, Andrew has led the organisation through a period of growth, change and opportunity, always championing our purpose and the people at the heart of everything we do.

His leadership has helped strengthen our services, support our ambitions and ensure Stori continues to make a positive difference in communities across Wales. Andrew has been a valued leader, colleague and advocate for Stori, leaving a legacy that will continue to shape the organisation for years to come.

On behalf of everyone at Stori, we want to thank Andrew for everything he has brought to Stori and the positive impact he has had on our colleagues, partners and communities. We wish him every success for the future.

Shwmae o Stori!

Today we're celebrating Shwmae Day, a chance to celebrate the Welsh language and encourage everyone to use a little more Welsh in their everyday lives, whether they're fluent speakers, learners, or just starting their language journey.

This morning, colleagues from across Stori came together to say Shwmae, share Welsh phrases and chat about how we can use more Welsh in the workplace. The conversations reflected the range of Welsh speakers we have across the organisation, from members of our Education Departments Addysg Cwtch and SpectrumProject teams, who use Welsh every day in their work, to colleagues in our Finance team who are currently learning and building their confidence with the language.

At Stori, we believe that Cymraeg belongs to everyone. Every word spoken, no matter how small, helps to keep the language alive and thriving. It was fantastic to see colleagues supporting one another, sharing tips and celebrating the role Welsh plays in our communities.

This afternoon, the celebrations continued with a Welsh-themed quiz, testing our knowledge of the Welsh language and pop culture.

Whether you say Shwmae, Sumae or Shwdi, today is all about starting the
conversation.

Stori's Interim CEO, Necia Lewis, and Head of Assets, Leon Paoletta, are attending the Community Housing Cymru Safety Member Community meeting today.

The session is focusing on the Building Safety (Wales) Act and what it means for housing providers across Wales, including the impact on our homes, services and responsibilities as we continue to put Tenant safety first.

Working alongside sector colleagues, we're helping shape discussions that will support the delivery of safer homes and stronger communities.

We are delighted to share that Stori's Interim Chief Executive, Necia Lewis, will be speaking at the HACT Community Investment Conference in Birmingham later this month.

Bringing together colleagues from across the housing, community investment and wider third sectors, the conference provides an opportunity to share learning, discuss challenges and explore how organisations can work together to strengthen communities and improve outcomes for the people they support.

Necia will be joining speakers from across the sector to share insights and contribute to conversations about community investment and the role it plays in creating positive change.

A Safe Place When It's Needed Most

These photos show rooms within our refuge. They may look like ordinary bedrooms and living spaces, but they are so much more than that. They are places of safety, hope and new beginnings. For the women and children who stay here, our refuge provides a haven where they can begin to rebuild their lives free from fear.

Our refuge service provides a safe and supportive environment for women and their children across Gwynedd and Ynys Môn. Alongside safe accommodation, our qualified IDVAs offer emotional support, safety planning, housing-related support, multi-agency working, and healthy relationship programmes. Our goal is to help women rebuild their confidence, regain their independence and live free from fear.

As part of Domestic Abuse Awareness Month, we want to remind people that help is available and that no one has to face domestic abuse alone. Safe spaces exist, whether through Stori or other organisations, and support is available when you're ready to reach out.

This World Mental Health Day, we're recognising the importance of mental wellbeing and the difference that support, understanding and connection can make.

At Stori, were proud to support people across Wales, helping individuals build confidence, resilience and positive wellbeing. We also equip people with the skills and knowledge to support others through our range of mental health and wellbeing training courses.

Today is also an opportunity to recognise the incredible colleagues who support others every day. Whether helping the people we support through difficult times, providing guidance, or simply being a listening ear, your compassion and commitment make a real difference. Supporting others can be incredibly rewarding, but it can also have an impact on our own wellbeing. That's why its so important to make time for self-care, reach out for support when needed, and remember that looking after ourselves is not a luxury, its essential. Mental health matters every day.

By supporting one another, challenging stigma and encouraging open conversations, we can help create a culture where everyone feels able to ask for help when they need it.

As a pan-Wales organisation, we don't get the opportunity to be in the same room together as often as we'd like. That's why our All Wales Managers' Strategy Day was such an important opportunity to come together, connect with colleagues from across the country and focus on our shared goals.

Yesterday was filled with collaboration, discussion and forward thinking, giving us the chance to share ideas, strengthen relationships and shape the future of our organisation. It was also a reminder that, while we may be spread across Wales, we're united by a common purpose and a shared commitment to making a difference.

No matter where we're based, we're all working towards the same goal: One Organisation. One Purpose. One Team.
