Will Wales finally divest from companies complicit in genocide?
Over the last 18 months, we have made huge progress in the campaign to stop Welsh local government pension funds investing in companies complicit in Israel’s genocide, occupation and apartheid.
Welsh public pension money has been invested in companies including Elbit Systems and Palantir, arms companies supplying weapons and technology, companies connected to the illegal settlement enterprise in the occupied West Bank, and businesses contributing to environmental destruction.
✊Half of Wales’ councils have now passed motions calling for divestment.
And there has been another important development: the Wales Pension Partnership has adopted an exclusion framework that could provide a route to excluding companies involved in controversial weapons and companies breaching international norms.
But we are not there yet.
Adopting policies is one thing. Delivering real divestment is another.
We need to make sure the Wales Pension Partnership follows through — and that means keeping up the pressure.

Every rally. Every protest. Every conversation with a councillor. Every person who has turned up and demanded change has helped bring us to this point.
We have made this progress because people have kept showing up.
Now we need to show them that we are not going away.
