REFUSED: application to expand Glan Lash opencast coal mine in Carmarthenshire, Wales! That's the UK's last opencast coal application 🥳 The decision spared ancient woodland🌳, irreplaceable hedgerow, & protected endangered marsh fritillary butterfly🦋 habitat from destruction💚. We'll be making sure the mining company now restores nature to the site, which has been delayed since 2019 due to successive attempts to expand the mine 🌍️

A massive thank you to Cyngor Sir Gâr - Carmarthenshire County Council who refused permission to extend coal mining at Glan Lash.

The world is heating at an alarming rate and extreme weather events are becoming more and more frequent.

This decision brings a stop to the last open cast coal mine in Wales!

Now Bryn Bach Coal must restore the land for nature and community.
