Home is the foundation of our lives. Yet too many people face barriers to accessing safe, stable housing that meets their needs and enables them to thrive.
At Emmaus, we see every day the vital role good supported housing can play – providing a home and support, alongside opportunities to build confidence, skills and social connections.
But supported housing is under increasing pressure.
This , we’re joining calls for the government to back supported housing by:
🏠 Establishing sustainable, long-term funding for supported housing and housing-related support.
🤝 Investing in supported housing as part of wider reform of homelessness, mental health, social care and hospital discharge services, with more joined-up working across government.
📢 Implementing the Supported Housing (Regulatory Oversight) Act in a way that tackles rogue providers while enabling good-quality providers to thrive, including adopting recommendations from our Rebuilding Lives report.
Good supported housing makes a real difference to people’s lives. We want to see action that ensures it can continue to do so for generations to come.
