🐴 WANTED: More Horsepower! 🐴

The Elisabeth Curtis Centre is looking for kind, reliable horses and ponies to join our wonderful herd and help transform lives through therapeutic riding.

Every week, our horses provide life-changing opportunities for disabled children and adults, helping to build confidence, independence, physical strength and emotional wellbeing. We are now looking for a few special equines to become part of our Centre family.

We're particularly interested in horses and ponies who:

✅ Are calm, sensible and enjoy working with people
✅ Are between approximately 13hh and 16hh
✅ Are sound, healthy and fit for riding
✅ Have a kind temperament and are happy in a varied environment
✅ May enjoy opportunities to take part in activities including dressage, carriage driving and the RDA Countryside Challenge

In return, we offer:

Just over two weeks to go until our Countryside Challenge! 🚜🐴

A huge thank you to our fantastic volunteers who have been hard at work painting the course animals and helping to bring this year's challenge to life. Their creativity, enthusiasm and dedication are making the course look wonderful, and we’re incredibly grateful for all their support.

The Countryside Challenge gives riders the opportunity to navigate a themed course inspired by real countryside experiences – from opening gates and posting letters to steering around obstacles and crossing bridges. It’s always a fun, confidence-building event filled with smiles, achievement and plenty of encouragement.

We can’t wait to welcome our riders on 28th June for what promises to be a fantastic day.

We would like to extend our gratitude to Flitwick Mowers who have very kindly donated a fantastic mower to help us take care of our outside space. When we put out a request for a donation we did not expect what arrived! From everyone at the Elisabeth Curtis Centre thank you so much, it is already doing a great job! 🫶🫶🤎🤎🌱🌱

Our first Tea with a Pony of 2026, Dixie did some carrot stretches and Sam went super sonic (well sort of! 😀) Lots of tea, cake and good company of course, plus some special treats for our ponies! Thank you as always to our wonderful volunteers 🥕🥕🐴🐴🫶🫶🤎🤎
