For many a scout through our doors Sherbrooke was where they first went camping. It's a vital location in our local scouting and our shared history

And here we are: the last meeting of 4th Carlton Scout troop.

With four of our young people becoming explorer age (along with other contributing factors) we have decided to suspend group meetings indefinitely.

We would like to extend our thanks to the many people who over the years have helped not just with weekly meetings but with our executive committee, on camps, events (such as bonfire night), stores sorting days and much more. To name everyone would be almost impossible (I would be bound to miss someone out) but in no way does that diminish their contribution!

I would especially like to thank Mark Tetley and Simon Peel for continuing to run the section to this point. It takes a lot of effort to plan, organise and then run meetings on a weekly basis but they have done a brilliant job of it.

Also thanks goes to Daniel Bolstridge for coming down to hand both Myself and Simon our 15 years service awards.

And finally, thanks to all of our young people who have passed through our beavers, cubs and scouts sections throughout the years (without whom we wouldn't have been here at all!). We hope you have learned something useful and had fun in the process!

There is some interesting artistry on display

The reason we were decorating the eggs was for an activity called Armenian Egg Jousting. Also known as Egg Tapping. It's essentially conkers with Easter Eggs and was as chaotic as you might expect

Tonight at scouts we're decorating Easter Eggs. I'd like to be clear we do have paintbrushes. The teenagers just decided they wanted to finger paint...

Our penultimate celebration for is Mark from 4th Carlton Scout Group Events!

Mark was recently presented with his Chief Scouts 15 Years Long Service Award! Thank you Mark for everything that you have done over the years, and continue to do so.

Just a reminder that we aren't holding our bonfire and fireworks display this year, there is no event happening tonight. We look forward to seeing you all next year
