Great email from Tim Farron, MP for Westmorland and Lonsdale,"Thank you very much for the latest edition of Cumbria’s Museum for Military Life magazine.

I am grateful for the Museum’s efforts to ensure that all who visit it are reminded of the work local soldiers are doing and have done in the past to defend our country." Cumbria's Museum of Military Life

The latest edition of Cumbria's Museum of Military Life's magazine is now out. Lead story is the part The Border Regiment played on Gold Beach on 'D' Day. Features are the creation of the 55th Foot in 1756. They would become 2nd Battalion the Border Regimnt in 1881. Then there are thoughts on long-serving Regiments, an 18th Century Army Brat; an introduction to
British drones; and ‘Charlie the Bastard’, the Boys anti-tank rifle. Plus news and memories from the Regimental Family.
