Our page is to promote the activities of the shops in our communities. We hope it will broaden the audience and encourage more people to get involved, either as customers, donors or volunteers. Our shops are different to most charity shops in that we are not wanting to take money from communities to send elsewhere, rather put money, value & opportunities back into our local communities. Each shop
seeks to engage with local people, particularly with those who have become disengaged or marginalised. We offer our goods at very keen prices to help local folk to make their money go further. Money raised keeps the shops open, creates jobs and allows us to support local activities & projects. We offer job clubs, access to the Internet, breakfast clubs, informal Christian gatherings, opportunities to train, volunteer, recycle, make friends, contribute to community and put structure & purpose into days. For some the shops are important resources for the household,offering affordable retail therapy, a popular place to meet, somewhere where they can be assured of a warm welcome, whatever their spending power. Others find them a refuge when things are difficult for them. For some they are a treasure trove, never knowing what they may find and enjoying the 'crack & ratch', whatever their reason, we offer a warm welcome to all and greatly appreciate the time our volunteers give and the generosity of our donors without whom, none of this would be possible.
