Wow, what a wonderful Installation!

Congratulations to our new Master, W. Bro. James Palmer. Our new IPM, W. Bro. Paul Reed, did an excellent job installing James into the Chair.šŸ‘

A special well done to our three newer members for delivering the Working Tools so confidently, congratulations to Brothers Richard Wadland, Adam Whitting, and Jack Williams on your first pieces of ritual.šŸ‘

Finally, a huge congratulations to W. Bro. Bruce Green, our Director of Ceremonies, on his first Installation, perfectly delivered.šŸ‘

It was a fantastic evening enjoyed by all. The food was delicious, and many thanks to the better halves of the Lodge for serving teas and coffees prior to the meeting. Thank you to Jane Clowes, Pat Ridsdill, and Ashley Hammerton🌹

Here’s to a new year, more initiates, new challenges, and plenty more fun ahead!

A good, hearty breakfast this morning ahead of our installation meeting this afternoon, where W.Bro Paul Reed will install W.Bro James Palmer into Cotehele’s chair.
Just a few final touches to complete, and we’ll be ready to welcome brethren from around the province.

This evening was another fantastic meeting at Cotehele Lodge, and it was a particularly special one as it marked the final meeting of W.Bro Paul Read as our Worshipful Master before next month’s Installation Meeting. At that meeting, he will install W.Bro James Palmer into the Chair.

I’m sure everyone in the Lodge will agree that Paul has done an exceptional job during his year as Master. During his tenure he has presided over 2 Initiations, 3 Passing ceremonies, and 3 Raising ceremonies, welcomed three new joining members, and helped raise much-needed funds for nine different non-Masonic charities and good causes, as well as supporting Masonic charities.

Of course, we can’t forget that he also successfully collected the Travelling Gavel… although he did manage to lose it a week later!
Paul, you have been an outstanding Master and a credit to the Lodge. We wish you all the very best for a (hopefully) quieter year ahead as IPM.

Thank you for all your hard work.

Here are some of your best bits!

We at Cotehele Lodge turned out in force to visit our neighbouring lodge, Loyal Victoria No. 557 in Callington.
We were treated to an excellent Third Degree ceremony, during which Bro. Carl Mills was raised to the sublime degree of a Master Mason.
Afterwards, we enjoyed a superb three-course meal, and our Master was presented with a certain travelling gavel!
It’s always a great night at Loyal Vic.

Another brilliant evening, this time in Golberdon, near Callington as we hosted our annual Horse Racing Night šŸŽ

It was wonderful to see family and friends come together to raise money for the truly amazing charity Hugs, which helps families cope with childhood cancers.

A big thank you to our neighbours from Loyal Victoria for coming along and supporting the event. We’re also very grateful to J&S Downing Butchers of Tavistock for providing a fantastic hog roast, which went down a treat!

The night was full of prizes, laughter, fun, and great community spirit and most importantly, we’ve raised over Ā£500 so far (and the total is still growing!).

Thank you to everyone who attended and supported us in helping make it such a successful and memorable evening.

This evening was a very special night. As it was our Worshipful Master’s penultimate meeting in the Chair, we decided to keep things fairly quiet......although recently I don’t think Cotehele Lodge really knows what a quiet meeting is!

Our own home-grown Grand Officer, W.Bro Phil Venning, presented our newest member, Bro Jack Williams, with his Grand Lodge Certificate. Afterwards, our Lodge Secretary and Chapter Representative delivered a brief and informative talk on the Chapter.

Our three newest members, who are close friends, were then front and centre for the delivery of the First Degree Tracing Board. This was presented by Bro James Broadbridge, our Inner Guard and a Trelawny Light Blue member. James has only been in Freemasonry for not quite three years, yet this was the best lecture on the First Degree Tracing Board I have ever seen and many agreed. Few can deliver it well, and even fewer as a Light Blue. As a Lodge, we are so proud of the work and effort James put in. You could hear a pin drop. It was perfect. Very well done.

The icing on the cake came from Pendennis Lodge, in particular W.Bro John Capp. Pendennis Lodge joined our meeting in November and were extremely impressed with the presentation by Bro Charlie Southcott, who had researched members of our Lodge who fell in the Great War and WWII. W.Bro John took that talk and mounted it in a beautifully presented frame. We at Cotehele are very thankful to John for this kind gift, which will be displayed on our wall so that our fallen brethren are always remembered.

The evening was rounded off with a wonderful festive board, where we entertained two unattached Freemasons and a gentleman guest. Form P or shoudl I say Hermes. šŸ¤ž

This afternoon, Cotehele Lodge donated vital medical equipment, including two first-response medical bags to the Devon & Cornwall Sending Love to Ukraine appeal.

These much needed supplies will soon be delivered to those who urgently need them in Ukraine.

A sincere thank you to everyone at Cotehele Lodge for their generous equipment donations and their contribution toward the medical bags.

The donations were received by Darren Tait from Darren's Cars, Louise Morton, the chairperson for Calstock Parish Twinning Group with Petrykivka, Ukraine and Yuliya from Petrykivka.

We wish Darren and his team all the best and safe travels delivering these supplies.
