🚨 STORMY STAN: LEGO EMERGENCY! 🥴🧱

Our long-serving RNLI assistant has returned to BoatShed Bricks HQ for emergency repairs after an unfortunate encounter with the vacuum cleaner. Either that, or he got legless in The Fishermans Tavern, Broughty Ferry across the road! 🍻😂

Do we rebuild him or give him the chop? 🤔

⚠️ WEATHER WARNING FOR TOMORROW! 🌧️💨 Further damage to LEGO personnel is possible. Keep your bricks indoors and leave the lifeboat crew to deal with the real emergencies!

⚠️ STORM BOELO – PLEASE TAKE CARE ⚠️

From all the crew at Broughty Ferry RNLI, we’re asking everyone to take extra care as Storm Boelo approaches our coastline.

🌊 Strong winds, heavy rain and rough seas can make our local coastal paths, promenades and seafront areas extremely dangerous. Large waves can sweep over sea walls and onto walkways with little warning.

Please help keep yourself and others safe:

🔹 Avoid exposed coastal paths and the seafront during the worst of the weather.
🔹 Keep well back from the water’s edge, sea walls and harbour walls.
🔹 Never turn your back on the sea to take photographs or watch the waves.
🔹 Check the latest weather forecasts and tide times before heading out.
🔹 Keep children and dogs well away from dangerous areas.

We know how much our local coastline means to people, and watching the waves can be spectacular. But no photograph or seaside walk is worth putting yourself at risk.

Please stay safe, look out for one another, and help us keep our community safe. ❤️

🌪️🥾 EVEN THE YELLOW WELLIES ARE TAKING SHELTER! 😂

With stormy weather on the way, we don’t want our young welly hunters battling the elements this weekend just to hand in forms!!

🚨 We’ve extended the deadline for returning completed Yellow Welly Hunt entry sheets until MONDAY 26TH OCTOBER!

📍 Hand them in at the RNLI Gift Shop, Fort Street, Broughty Ferry.

💛 Don’t forget to hand in your entry sheet – you’ve got to be in it to win it!

⚓️ A new chapter for Broughty Ferry RNLI

Our Trent-class lifeboat has served Broughty Ferry incredibly well over the years, but as part of the RNLI's long-term fleet plans, we'll be receiving a new Coastal Lifeboat in 2028. A new lifeboat capable of operating up to 25NM offshore with a top speed of 35 knots, which will allow us to reach those that we rescue faster. The CLB will have a watertight wheelhouse and will be self-righting. This is part of the RNLI’s 2040 Lifeboat Fleet Strategy.

While it'll be a big change for the station, the new boat is being designed for the kind of rescues we increasingly see today, with greater speed and the ability to operate close inshore, around shallow water and difficult coastal areas.

The boat may be changing, but our mission isn't. Our volunteer crew will be ready to embrace the challenge, complete the training and continue providing the lifesaving service our community relies on.

Behind every one of those numbers is a dedicated team of volunteers ready to answer the call, day or night, whatever the weather.

We're incredibly proud of our crew and grateful for the fantastic support we receive from our local community. Your support helps keep our lifeboats launching and our volunteers ready to respond when they're needed most.
