☘️ Did You Know? America Goes Green First! St. Patrick’s Day might honor Irish heritage, but the largest celebrations actually happen right here in the United States. Cities across the country turn rivers green, host massive parades, and bring communities together to celebrate Irish culture.

At FLAG, we love seeing students from around the world experience traditions like this firsthand. Cultural exchange is all about learning, sharing, and discovering new celebrations along the way. Today we’re feeling especially lucky to have students from so many countries becoming part of communities across America. 💚

⏰ Spring Forward… but Not Everyone Does! Tonight in the U.S. we spring forward, moving our clocks ahead one hour. That means one less hour of sleep but longer evenings ahead.

Fun fact: many countries around the world do not change their clocks at all, and others do it on completely different dates. So while Americans are adjusting to the time change tonight, some of our exchange students might be wondering why everyone suddenly looks a little extra sleepy tomorrow.

Welcome to one of those uniquely American traditions. Set your clocks ahead tonight and maybe grab an extra cup of coffee in the morning!

We hear often that natural parents worry about travel safety in the U.S. The J-1 exchange program is highly regulated by the U.S. State Department and includes background-checked host families, local coordinators, and 24/7 support systems. Students are never alone. ❤️They are part of a community built around connection, support, school life, and care. 🇺🇸

Boots. Beats. Big smiles. 🤠✨ Salome from Switzerland 🇨🇭 and Camille from France 🇫🇷 traded cobblestone streets for cowboy boots and hit the dance floor for some classic American line dancing!

Because that’s what exchange is all about. Trying something new. Laughing through the steps. Missing a turn. Nailing the next one. From the Alps to the American South, from Paris to the prairie… cultures connect one dance at a time!
