In just under 5 weeks our 2 Patrols from Dundee will start their 13 day adventure at the Blair Atholl Patrol Jamborette. Last weekend saw them team up with all the other Patrols from East Region for a training camp.

Back in time to 1979. This picture was taken at the JV Muir Cub competition held at the Douglaswood Scout Centre. This picture was taken in the campfire circle, shortly after the trees were planted. Looks very different today.

Last weekend the Scouts held the District Flag Camping Competition. 7 Patrols for Groups around the city were tasked with setting up a patrol camp site, cooking all their meals on gas and open fire while taking part in Patrol activities. The Flag was won by the 26th Dundee, with the 45th Dundee as runners up. Well done to all who took part.

In September last year, a Networker from Malawi called Joseph joined in with an online Scouts of the World Discovery Weekend hosted by Scouts Scotland. In order to get his award signed off he was buddied up with Dundee Scout Network so he could get the award signed off and receive support throughout.
As part of his award, Joseph planned and delivered a project called “Hygiene for Life”, teaching the importance of sanitation and clean hands. Over the course of his project he reached over 5000 students and 2500 member of his community in Lilongwe
In March Joseph presented on his award to the Broughty Ferry Explorers and a number of volunteers from throughout the UK and last week he received his award. 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿🇲🇼🌎

2026 sees the 40th Blair Atholl Patrol Jamborette take place at Target Park, Blair Atholl in July. Around 80 patrols of Scouts and Explorers from all over Scotland will host Overseas Scouts for 12 days. Together they will take part in array of activities and make new friendships and memories.

The Dundee patrols kicked off their training over a chilly weekend at the Douglaswood Scout Centre.
