Countryside Education Trust

Countryside Education Trust We run a residential centre on a farm in a forest by a river near the sea - how lucky can you be!

We connect people of all ages with the countryside from our beautiful sites in the New Forest: schools, groups of friends, playgroups, older members of the community, we have something for everyone! School residential groups, day visits for schools or clubs, visits to the farm or treehouses for care home residents, large public events, playgroups, rural courses and after school clubs feature! Or come and stay with friends for a countryside weekend, or even get married here!

Yesterday saw farms across the country celebrating the 20th year of Open Farm Sunday Open Farm Sunday

Open Farm Sunday is an annual event where people can come along and see what life is like on the farm.

This year, people visited the animals at Home Farm, took a tractor ride in Middle Field, and headed back to the residential centre for a breakfast bap.

Sounds like a successful Sunday to us! We hope you all enjoyed the day.

Huge thanks to our volunteers for giving their time to show people around.

And a special mention to our friends at The Commoners Larder for providing the sausages - which were heartily devoured - and New Forest Fruits for donating the delicious strawberries for our pop-up shop. We are so lucky to have such excellent New Forest food producers on our doorstep and proud to call them supporters of our work.

In July we will be running an Artists' Charcoal Making workshop in our ancient woodland. The goal will be to make your own charcoal sticks to use creatively for writing and drawing. You will have a chance to explore the wood while collecting materials and time to enjoy a hot drink and snack while the charcoal cooks.

19th July
1.30 - 4pm
Hartford Wood, Beaulieu

Our Writer in Residence has created a beautiful example of what you can do with charcoal. This is part of a series of poems and drawings she made based on what can be found in our woodland. Being around the fire will be very inspiring for any creative ideas you have.

Spaces are £25 and can be booked on our website at www.cet.org.uk/events
