During volunteers week we recognise the importance of the unpaid volunteers that run the centre and also those who facilitate groups and activities that take place in the centre each week..

Many may not know that West Ward is an independently run, self funding registered charity - unlike many other venues we do not receive council support or funding, unless we actively seek it via grants. All of the revenue from hiring out the centre is ploughed back into keeping West Ward open - a difficult task in these economic times !

We thank our volunteers who deal with emails, and enquiries to their personal phones and social media all hours, who open and close the centre, who deal with maintenance, who deal with the extensive admin needed to operate a centre like ours, and so many more varied tasks… all for free and in their own time!

Thank you to our board - Fiona, Clair, Emma, Julie and Matt! A small bit mighty team doing their very best to ensure that after 70 years the doors of West Ward still welcome in the local community !

Thank you to the volunteers who join us through the year for events, or run our community interest groups…

We think you are all amazing!!

Both have supported us at West Ward in the past so please have a look at what they do and support them back if you can !
