Ukraine Clothing Appeal

Bradford on Avon Rotary Club were very pleased to be able to contribute together with 15 other local Rotary clubs in North Somerset and West Wiltshire to the collection of 825Kg of alternative articles of clothing to be supplied to injured members of the Ukraine Defence Forces when admitted to hospital.
These were packed into 55 boxes and will be transported overland to the hospital in Kirovohrad in the next couple of weeks

Rotary Young Writer Competition

The Rotary Young Writer competition, organised by Rotary International in Great Britain and Ireland aims to support and encourage the development of writing skills among young people. This year, Bradford on Avon Rotary partnered with St Laurence School for the local heat with entries from five talented pupils at the school all in the 11 to 13 year old age group
The judges were highly impressed by the quality of submissions, which included both short stories and poems exploring the theme of ‘Happiness in Nature’. All participants will receive certificates in recognition of their efforts, and the joint winners will advance to the District finals.

The Rotary Club of Bradford on Avon extends its sincere thanks to the judges and the staff at St Laurence School for their invaluable support.

? The Rotary Club of Bradford on Avon 2025 Christmas Quiz Answers ?

Firstly, thank you to everyone who supported this quiz. You have helped in raising more than £700 for numerous local charities, including the Bath Cancer Unit Support Group.
As before, the questions were a good mix of the cryptic, phonetic or a combination of both and sometimes proved challenging and sometimes obvious (but only if they were to you!)

Of all the sheets returned this year none was completely correct, although many scored in the high 90’s. The tie-break was needed and only one person came even close to the Marlborough Weather Station’s reading of Minus 3.6 degrees centigrade.

BOA Join In! is back on Saturday 6 June — but before we announce more details we’re looking to hear from community groups, charities, clubs and social organisations who want to get involved.

This is a great chance for groups to show what they do and connect with new members and volunteers.

We want the event to be full of fun, activities and demonstrations so people can see what’s on offer — and maybe even try something new for themselves!
