Our newly restored No. 4 Bramley Cottage is the newest addition to The Hall Estate, offering a comfortable stay for up to four guests within the grounds of our historic estate in Bradford on Avon.

Long before The Hall Estate became a destination for visitors, it was home to Dr Alex Moulton CBE — engineer, inventor and one of Britain’s great automotive pioneers.

Alex had a lifelong passion for engineering and design, and his collection of cars reflected that fascination. From his work with Sir Alec Issigonis on the suspension system of the original Mini to his own pioneering designs, cars were an important part of his life.

His passion for engineering shows throughout the Estate, where his cars, bicycles, and other inventions formed part of the everyday landscape.

Today, the legacy of Alex Moulton remains woven into the fabric of The Hall Estate — a place where 400 years of history meets British engineering innovation.
