Cyril Park has not been forgotten by our community charity.
We didn’t win the grant funding we applied for in January unfortunately, but continue to apply for other smaller funding pots for parts of the whole project.

Cllr Alasdair Keddie - Queen's Park & Charminster and our charity visited Shieling College, a wonderful local SEN specialist school, to look at their sensory garden designs and discuss an unloved area of Cyril park that we are hoping to transform into an SEN garden space.

No funding for this yet, but we keep applying and trying!

We have some funding for play equipment refurbishment, more on this later this month.

Queen’s Park pond repair work.

We’ve had so much rain recently you probably didn’t notice, but work (100% funded by a grant from Bournemouth Water Limited) to repair the leak and install new drainage pipes took place in May.

The pond was being monitored, and believed that this was the only hole. Very hard to tell until we see the very hot weather return and can measure the evaporation rate and water level drop.

Further work, 50% covered under the same grant award, to part dredge the silt from the pond to increase a capacity is scheduled for October 2026.
