This meeting happened last night, it was very well attended with 50+ people there, lots of passion in the room around getting it opened & helping in the future, lots of talk from U3A people & dance groups & others.
The good news is that BCP are going to reopen the Beaufort Community Centre on the 14/9 not in full but some of the rooms, they are in the process of contacting those groups who used to use those rooms to try to entice them back.
It seems that BCP are spending some money on decorations & toilet facilities, but it might help if the Community were told about what the longer term plan looks like, as I believe there is a strong enough drive in the community to open & run it along similar lines to Hengistbury Head Outdoors - The Forum has agreed to try to host another public meeting with BCP Council & people like to understand more. If we have to we might host this online.
Watch this space & thanks for all those people who came up & said hi last night & any new followers.
Lastly I would like to thank Tom Hayes MP & his Team for setting this up.

The Forum has been a little busy with Charity stuff over the last 4 weeks & not posted much, this is worth posting about though in terms of we all need a reset every now & again & Hengistbury Head Outdoors in this short video showcase the next session on the 30th of August, it is a wonderful place to rest & recuperate too.

Thinking of what to do today?

Pop on down to Tuckton & watch the River Pageant from midday, you might even spot some pirates!

I know many are concerned that the powers that be are not doing enough, here is an important initiative happening locally to you very soon. There are details in here of where the events are taking place & how to book a ticket.

A series of screenings of the People’s Emergency Briefing will take place later this month.

This powerful short film highlights the risks that climate change poses to our health, infrastructure and everyday lives, while exploring the actions we can take to prepare for the challenges ahead.

Tickets are free and can be booked using the links below.

Could it happen that a Brit wins Wimbledon? 😱
Oooooh Now that's a tasty thought.
Will you remember where you were when that happened?...... Tuckton Tea Gardens and Bournemouth Boating Services is the place to be to watch the tennis, it's a great way to enjoy the weather & still watch the tennis, especially as we still have a Brit competing.
Could that set us up for England to win the World Cup?😀

The big ones are nearly here 🎾

We'll be showing the Wimbledon semi-finals on Friday 10th July and the final on Sunday 12th July, live on the big screen in the tea rooms.

These always get busy, so a little tip from us: bring a chair and grab your spot in the garden 🪑

Specials on the menu and the Bodega Bar pop-up will be here too 🍹 See you riverside ☀️

Memory Lane – Live at Harry’s.
Saturday 11th July

Memory Lane is made up of two local musicians, Nate and Eloise. Between them they’ve spent years performing in front of thousands of people – from supporting Bon Jovi to playing Baby in the UK tour of Dirty Dancing.

Now they’re coming together for the first time to play a mix of acoustic songs from the 60s right through to today’s favourites. Expect everything from Elvis Presley to Olivia Dean, and from the Spice Girls to Guns N’ Roses.

Whether you fancy a relaxed evening listening to live music or love a good singalong, there’ll be something for everyone from 4.30pm to 7.30pm.

We’d love to see you.
