Welcome to the team Fres, our new team member!

Fred will be replacing our older man overboard simulation dummy, who’s retiring after a long career. The Tynemouth RNLI lifeboat station kindly donated Fred, and we’re so thankful!

With Fred’s help, we’re able to practice our man overboard procedure with the hope of never having to put the training to good use, but with the knowledge that we can carry it out quickly and safley should we need to.

How Will You Use the Decorative Box You Create?

We're delighted to be running our popular Decorative Box Making Course again this year!

Last year, Anne joined us to create her very own decorative wooden box from scratch. Guided by Martin, our trainer, and Nik, one of our skilled shipwrights, she spent two rewarding days learning traditional woodworking techniques and crafting something truly unique with her own hands.

Despite never having made anything like this before, Anne quickly developed the skills needed to produce a beautiful finished piece. Having previously attended one of our free courses, she was keen to take on a new challenge and thoroughly recommends the experience to others. She even kindly sent us a picture of her box in use!

If you've ever wanted to learn a practical skill, work with wood, or simply take a break from screens and daily distractions, this course is the perfect opportunity. Spend two days creating something you'll be proud of for years to come while learning techniques you'll keep for life.

Course Dates
1st–2nd July
9th–10th November

£250 per person

Every penny goes directly back into the charity, helping us continue our work preserving maritime heritage and supporting our local community.

Why not join us and create something special of your own?

This is a unique opportunity to experience traditional sailing on a remarkable 112-year-old vessel and create memories that will last a lifetime.
