At The Open Door Charity we make support available with regards to depression and anxiety in a way which is friendly, laid back, informal and the antitheses of the traditional medical, clinical, GP waiting room approach. We tackle stigmas, increase tolerance, inspire discussion and affiliate the dialogue around these issues with creative, artistic and musical circles rather than the medical, clini

cal domain. We offer is free, confidential and immediate access to our innovative and unique therapeutic offer, Bazaar. We also have a range of projects and services which tackle the many myths and taboos which are prevalent with regards to mental health issues across the community, using the arts and music in particular. It is these which have a direct negative impact upon young people's willingness to readily access support should they require it.

It’s men’s health week and we want to break the stigma around men and boys talking about their mental health 🙏

our new home at Joy will enable us to be more accessible, more inclusive and more creative when it comes to mental health support. alongside our partner tenants, we will all work with the shared goal to tackle mental health in young people across merseyside, including young men and boys 🤛

Let’s talk Montirex ❤️‍🔥💪🏃‍♂️

Last week we attended the launch of the Montirex foundation event, being proud partners of the organisation.

we were honoured to be in a room with some incredibly influential people, as well as attend Montirex’s trail run event at the weekend. they are reinforcing that now, more than ever, men’s mental health is something we all need to come together and tackle.

these guys are doing an amazing job at highlighting the necessity of men’s mental health and wellbeing, and we can’t wait to be apart of that crucial journey in facilitating life saving mental health, and supporting young men and boys across merseyside ⚡️

we’ve had a busy week touring our mentors around Joy, a sneak preview for their new volunteer hub…👀 followed by celebratory coffee, cake and a chat with our new fabulous volunteering manager, Caitlin!

not only this, but we’ve chatted to some of our Bazaar mentors, Ben, Lorraine and Esmae and how they fit volunteering at Open Door around their day to day lives.

steve morgan foundation conference 2026 🏆🥂

a few weeks ago, some of the team at Open Door attended thSteve Morgan Foundationon conference and awards aCarden Park Hotel. we attended exciting workshops, listened to some incredible keynote speakers about partnerships and fundraising, and networked with some amazing people and organisations.

we are so pleased to announce that not only were we shortlisted for inspirational leadership award, but we were the overall winner! thank you to the team at Steve Morgan Foundation for this award, and we look forward to exciting partnership activity in the future 🎉
