A little reminder to our wonderful community 💚

We’re incredibly grateful for everyone who thinks of the farm when they have spare fruit and veg to donate. Your kindness and support mean so much to us.

However, under current DEFRA/APHA regulations, we are unfortunately unable to accept kitchen scraps or peelings, from a domestic or commercial kitchen — even if they are completely plant-based.

These rules are in place to help protect farm animals from serious diseases such as Foot & Mouth and African Swine Fever, which can spread through contaminated food waste.

This means we can only accept:✅ Fresh, unused produce✅ Unopened surplus veg✅ Garden-grown produce that has not entered a kitchen

We cannot accept:❌ Vegetable peelings❌ Plate leftovers❌ Cooked vegetables❌ Food scraps from homes, cafés, or restaurants

We know this can feel surprising, especially when the food seems perfectly safe, but we must follow DEFRA guidance to keep our animals healthy and protected.

Thank you for understanding and for continuing to support the farm and our animals 🐐🐓🐑💚

After a long wait, we can finally let you know that the farm cafe is open from today on a limited menu only. Hopefully more news as the weekend goes by but for now we can recommend the fabulous ice creams and coffee. Yum yum.

Two of our very young volunteers have been very busy making badges on their new badge maker, for us to sell at the farm to raise money to feed our animals.

We want to thank them very much and encourage everyone visiting to buy a Tam O'Shanter badge to support our work.

We recommend a minimum 50p donation per badge but would welcome £1 if you are able to support our work in this way.

Thank you girls xx
