What a lovely afternoon we had today at Williamson Art Gallery creating beautiful textile books from recycled fabrics, ribbons, buttons and embellishments 📚🧵✨

It was wonderful to see everyone’s creativity shine as each person designed a completely unique book to take home. From delicate floral covers to bold and colourful fabric combinations, every piece reflected the maker’s own style and imagination.

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us and made the session such a success. We love seeing fabric scraps transformed into something beautiful, practical and full of character.

✨ NEW CREATIVE WORKSHOP ✨

Join us for a relaxing afternoon of Abstract Boho Textiles at Bromborough Social Club.

Using fabric scraps, recycled materials, buttons, lace and mixed media techniques, we’ll create unique textured textile artwork inspired by colour, pattern and creativity. No sewing experience is needed – just come along and enjoy the process.

💜 Happy Volunteers’ Week! 💜

Tuesday we had the pleasure of bringing some of our amazing volunteers together for a special celebration afternoon filled with lunch, creativity, conversation and lots of laughter.

Our volunteers give their time, energy, skills and kindness to support others across our community every single week. Whether they’re helping at activities, supporting events, encouraging participants, sharing ideas or simply being there when someone needs a friendly face, their contribution makes a real difference.

The image is just a small glimpse of the creativity, friendship and teamwork that our volunteers bring to Amber Button CIC. We are incredibly grateful for everything they do and the positive impact they have on the lives of so many people.

A huge thank you to each and every one of our volunteers – Amber Button simply wouldn’t be the same without you. 💛

We would also like to thank Wirral CVS for supporting our Volunteers’ Week celebration through their grant funding, helping us recognise and celebrate the wonderful people who make our work possible.

Another lovely afternoon of creativity at Williamson Art Gallery on Monday 💛

As part of our zero waste campaign, participants transformed recycled fabrics, textiles and decorative materials into beautiful handmade wreaths, each one completely unique. It was wonderful to see so much imagination, conversation and creativity around the table, with plenty of inspiration being shared along the way.

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us and helped make the session such a success. We love seeing what can be created from materials that might otherwise have gone to waste ♻️✨

💛 Meet the woman behind Amber Button CIC…

This fun caricature captures so much of what Amber Button is all about – creativity, community, wellbeing, inclusion, endless cups of tea and, of course, a never-ending pile of funding applications! ☕✨

From workshops and fairy doors to support groups, volunteering opportunities and community projects, every idea starts with a simple belief: that creativity can bring people together and help people thrive.

Today’s chat at our Stroke Group touched on so many important and honest topics 💛

We talked about the worries carers can carry about what would happen to their loved one if they became ill themselves, and the incredible way the brain can rewire and adapt after a stroke.

We also discussed hidden disabilities and how difficult it can be when others don’t understand the lasting effects of stroke — including the frustration many survivors feel at needing to explain themselves so people don’t wrongly assume they are “slow” or lacking understanding.

Other conversations included the benefits of hidden disability lanyards, navigating public perceptions, and the worries and anxieties that can come with travelling and holidaying after a stroke.

As always, there was plenty of support, understanding, shared experiences and reassurance in the room 💛

Another busy and creative week for Amber Button CIC 💛

From new fairy door finds across Wirral, button art at Williamson Art Gallery, card making at Taking Strides, Stroke Group chats and support at NestonC*C, to gel polish sessions at the salon ✨

We also loved meeting so many lovely people at our Summer HAF staff interviews ☀️

Most sessions are taking a short pause this week for a well-earned reset in the sunshine, although our Stroke Group and Birkenhead holiday clubs will still be running.

Thank you to everyone who supports, attends and cheers us on. Hope you’ve all had a lovely Bank Holiday weekend 🌼

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us at the Williamson Art Gallery yesterday for our Button Art workshop 💕

We loved seeing everyone’s creativity come to life, from beautiful floral designs to quirky family creations and colourful handmade cards. Every piece was completely unique and it was lovely to spend the afternoon crafting together in such a welcoming setting.

Our next session will take place on Monday 1 June, 1–3pm at Williamson Art Gallery and this time we’ll be creating beautiful handmade wreaths 🌿✨

What a fantastic and very busy week it has been at Amber Button CIC

Across our groups, workshops and community spaces, we’ve welcomed people of all ages for creativity, learning, friendship and support.

This week we enjoyed:
✨ Pottery painting at the Williamson Art Gallery & Museum
✨ Paper folding and creative wellbeing at Taking Strides
✨ Recycled crafts sessions in Beechwood
✨ Hair and beauty training courses at Beech Combers Salon
✨ Friendship, peer support and conversation at our Growing Connections stroke support group at Neston C*C
✨ Supporting and taking part in the Neston Young Voices event

We were also absolutely delighted to receive new funding from the Zero Waste Community Fund this week, helping us continue and expand our work around recycling, reusing materials creatively and encouraging less waste within our communities ♻️

From creative workshops and vocational learning to wellbeing groups and community events, every session helps people build confidence, reduce isolation, learn new skills and feel connected.

A huge thank you to everyone who attends, volunteers, supports and works alongside us. Together we continue creating welcoming spaces filled with kindness, creativity and opportunity.
