Two of our cadets, FS Willingham and Cdt Harris, along with Flt Lt Male and WO Evans-Jones, had the brilliant opportunity to attend summer camp at Royal Air Force Valley with other cadets from Squadrons across Merseyside Wing Air Cadets. During the week they spent time with the Fire Section, Search and Rescue, 72 Sqn (Texans), 4 Sqn (Hawk T2), BAE Engineering and the Red Arrows, Force Protection, Physical Training Instructors, Air Traffic Control and 1 FTS. They also had chance to squeeze in a trip to Canaerfon Castle, Canaerfon Airport and Museum, and finished the week with a high ropes challenge at Ropeworks Active! Throughout the week cadets also took part in BSL lessons, debate and leadership sessions, alongside a healthy amount of uniform prep and drill practice (there was some free time too of course!) The cadets were also lucky enough to be able to have an audience with the Deputy Station Commander and OC 4 FTS who gave amazing insights into their careers and their responsibilities at RAF Valley. The week was rounded off with a drill competition, judged by the Deputy SWO who was very impressed with the standard of drill.
