This is the Boozinstoke Rockin' Fraternity. An eclectic mix of Rockabillys, Psychobilly's, Teds, Rockers...in fact anyone into the alcohol fuelled, fun-loving, underground, life-style choice of todays 'Rockin scene'. Christened 'Boozinstoke' by the South Coast guys way back in the 1980's for the copious amounts of alcohol consumed at various gigs, All-dayers and Weekenders we frequented. This rock

in' vice has been proudly continued by further generations that are embracing
the scene, and also those that are not in the confines of Basingstoke but share the ideals of a 'Fraternity' that look out for each other, live for the music and style, and above all want to have as much fun as possible surrounded by likeminded friends. This is not a club but a friendship we all have.....
The bottom line is, we like getting pi$$ed listening to
rock 'n' roll with our mates. Please don't use this to voice political views or non-rockin stuff or to have 'I used to be a...' and bait this site with other scene sh*te. No-one is interested.

I think that most, if not all of you who frequent the BRF are totally aware of the feeling towards this variant of the stroll that should be accompanied by sea lions honking car horns - it’s a scourge and it’s just downright awful!!
We don’t have rules regarding dance and I hope everyone who visits can feel happy to Bop, Jive, wreck and Stroll (even fellas strolling if they want) to learn or follow. No one will be critical or ridicule if you give it a go as our crowd will be more than happy to help you learn and also applaud your confidence. Everyone and I mean EVERYONE started somewhere and it’s all about enjoying yourself and having fun.
However … start doing the $% #&!! jazz hands and you are more than welcome to leave.

Some of us have been lucky enough to see Harry James ETA previously so we’re well aware that this ‘ELVIS NIGHT’ at the BRF is going to be a great night!
Harry is a real rising star and we are so pleased to have landed him for our August night. Humble and approachable Harry is really looking forward to the Boozinstoke welcome and being embraced into the fold.
This night is a result of a direct request to have a one off ELVIS night and I think you’ll find that we have not settled for anything less than the best for our party!

Let me be clear from the off. The Boozinstoke Rockabilly Night is not a ‘Vintage / Retro’ “ooh look what I wore to Goodwood” - kind of event.
Our Rockabilly Night is now, and we are current.
It’s an Elvis Night for rockin and fun loving non rockin people to have a great time with something different in a warm and friendly atmosphere - but be warned. It’s going to be standing room only and loud.
The BRF has prided itself on being a fluff free Friday since 2014 and we’d really love to keep it that way.

Lots of notice so no excuses. Friday the 11th of September and we’ve got him back once again to repeat one of the biggest coups of our 12 year history. The Legend that is EDDIE VORTEX makes a welcome return to do what he does best!
Southern Englands contribution to the wild days of the Neo Rockabilly explosion with ‘EDDIE VORTEX and the CUPID STUNTS’ we are proud - nay honoured to have him return with the SUPERGROUP from his return, consisting of two CORSAIRS and a ROCKIN BANDIT!!!
The Royal Oak Basingstoke for one of those folklore kind of nights that your Grandchildren will love to hear over and over again … or possibly just keep it to a memory.

No details of a wake as yet. But we will be raising our glasses at the next Boozinstoke in her memory for those that cannot attend due to other commitments.

A few things to consider before making the trip ..
If your idea of a good night out is to stand alone consuming a couple of pints of tap water all night, or sitting within a clique, if you are chomping at the bit to show everyone your perfected variation on the ‘Charleston Stroll’, or you look down your nose at rowdy, raucous behaviour, if you find yourself as someone who would be chuckling that other peoples clothing aren’t ‘rockin enough’ but only bring out your expensive online purchases at the odd weekend and if your idea of a fun night is making someone else’s night miserable - then please don’t come.
We pride ourselves on NOT being a club, and we also pride ourselves on being a safe haven and attempting to replicate those old school rockabilly nights - and to be fair that also means age appropriate behaviour is pretty much non existent.

However DO come if you want a fun, fluff free … slightly unhinged but friendly night!

One of those on the ‘to-do’ list as it’s been requested by others in the past and after seeing Harry James ETA on three occasions already this year, Harry was the target.
The BRF has always been a staunch advocate for young rockin talent and a great believer in supporting the next generation to keep this big old beautiful scene of ours alive and into the next century! Harry James though, well he’ll need no introduction as he has already got quite a following and an impressive record of who he’s taken the stage with. ( A great performance at our pals Rockin' by the Sea earlier this year with Darrel Higham and Rusti Steel for example)
So who’s on the decks on this August evening? A special ‘first’ at Boozinstoke with us having now completed 3 generations of Killners spinning tunes under the Skull and Ales - ladies and gentlemen we give you Presley Killner - Son of Aaron Jumpin Around Killner, Grandson of Boppin Robin and now a DJ in his own right.
So - August 28th at the Royal Oak Basingstoke
