We’re excited to welcome you to Cooking Class – Cohort 3, starting 16th September for 10 weeks! 🥗👩‍🍳👨‍🍳

Organised by Fellowship Educational Society, in partnership with Dialogue Society Oxford, with support from The National Lottery Community Fund

In our Cooking Class, we prepared a delicious chocolate cake, a delightful treat for warm summer days.

After completing our recipe, we gathered around the table to enjoy the cake over a cup of tea and pleasant conversation, creating a lovely opportunity to share, connect, and spend meaningful time together.

A simple recipe, a shared table, and warm conversations made the experience all the more special.

As part of our cooking class, participants prepared traditional Turkish açma with olive and cheese fillings. The session provided an opportunity not only to learn a new recipe and practise baking techniques, but also to exchange ideas and experiences about different food cultures and culinary traditions.

Following the preparation, participants enjoyed tasting the freshly baked açma accompanied by Turkish tea. The positive feedback and enthusiasm to recreate the recipe at home reflected the success of this enjoyable and interactive session.

We were pleased to bring participants together through a shared interest in food, culture, and learning.

A wonderful finish to our second evening Cooking Class before the summer break! 👩‍🍳🍽️

Our final session was a wonderful opportunity to celebrate our participants’ achievements and present certificates in recognition of their commitment throughout the programme. Over the past weeks, we have shared delicious recipes, learned new skills, and created meaningful connections through food and conversation.

This Cooking Class was delivered in partnership with Dialogue Society Oxford, with the generous support of the The National Lottery Community Fund.

Congratulations to all our participants, and thank you for being part of this journey. We look forward to welcoming new faces in our final cohort after the summer break! 🌞🎉

Another lovely Cook Connect session today at Dialogue Society Oxford! 🍽️✨
It was wonderful to see people from different backgrounds coming together to cook, learn new skills, share stories, and enjoy each other’s company in such a warm and welcoming atmosphere.
A heartfelt thank you to The National Lottery Community Fund for supporting this project and helping us create meaningful opportunities for connection and community through cooking. We are also grateful to all our participants and volunteers for making each session so special.

This week in our cooking class, we prepared two delicious recipes: traditional Dövmeç and a beautifully decorated strawberry cake. 🍓🎂

It was a wonderful opportunity to discover different flavours, practise new techniques, and enjoy the process of cooking together. The savoury and traditional taste of Dövmeç was perfectly complemented by the freshness and sweetness of the strawberry cake.

A lovely week filled with good food, creativity, and enjoyable moments shared around the table. 👩‍🍳✨

This July and August, Fellowship Educational Society, in collaboration with Mentor Wise, will welcome 15 different groups of secondary school students to our 3-day Book Reading & Activity Camps.

Our Basingstoke Weekend School, part of the Fellowship Educational Society, celebrated our students' achievements by presenting awards and gifts in recognition of their dedication and success throughout the year.

This week in our cooking class, we explored one of the most beloved parts of Turkish culture: the traditional Turkish breakfast.

We prepared a colorful breakfast table with olives, different types of cheese, homemade-style jams, simit, fresh bread, and many other delicious flavors. We also learned how to make menemen, a classic Turkish dish made with eggs, tomatoes, and peppers.

It was a wonderful class full of culture, sharing, and delicious food. Thank you to everyone who joined us
