Southampton Solent University’s School of Creative Industries brings a bold and unique visual arts showcase to the heart of War Memorial Park for Basingstoke Festival. Packed with vibrant ideas from emerging artists, this exciting festival feature celebrates fresh talent shaped by hands-on, inclusive learning.

Calling all adventurers! Would you like to take part in an Eco Quest?

The realm of fairytales has been attacked by classic villains who are polluting and destroying their magical world. Can you build the three pigs a new home? Help Jack to plant some magic beans? Take down Captain Hook and his rubbish wielding pirates? Find Thumbelina’s secret habitat?

Have fun exploring this family Trail in War Memorial Park on Saturday 4 July and become an eco-warrior along the way!

Step into The Hide and see what might not always be visible. The Hide is a live birdwatching experience, led by artist Tilly Ingram. The Hide gives us time to sit, appreciate and watch the spaces around us. Whilst looking for birds, we can also stop and think about how we look at nature and how we look at people.

📍 Head to Eastrop Park on Saturday 20 June to catch this.

💡The Light Lab: Exhibition and Play Space with Emma Callow 💡

A space to tinker, experiment, and explore.

The Light Lab is a vibrant exhibition celebrating the creativity of children and families from The Safe. This immersive space brings together their ideas, experiments, and artworks, all brought to life through light, art, and technology.

Alongside the exhibition, spark your own creativity too! Tinker with light and experiment with art, science, and technology using hands-on activities such as light drawing, light boxes, animation, and digital pattern-making tools.
