Children's theatre coming to Proteus Creation Space soon....

A Tale of Us is a brand new play for parents and their babies. A celebration of the wonder, joys and challenges of becoming a new parent. Blending drama and multi-sensory playtime. Made for parents with children aged up to 18 months.

Guided Stay and Play session after each performance.

Visit Sandham Memorial Chapel as part of Heritage Open Days next month.

Home to an epic series of large-scale murals by the acclaimed artist Sir Stanley Spencer created to honour the ‘forgotten dead' of the First World War. Pre-book to explore Stanley Spencer's paintings, spend time in the gardens, listen to poetry and join a three-mile walk around the village of Burghclere in Stanley's footsteps.

There will be art sessions, a pop up tearoom, deep dives into the paintings and other activities to enjoy too!

📅 Saturday 19 September from 11am to 3pm with an optional three-mile walk starting at 12.30pm

During Heritage Open Day weekend, you can visit The Vyne - National Trust for a rare opportunity to watch experienced lacemakers at work, learn about the history of lace in Britain, and discover how this intricate textile tradition which is now listed as an Endangered Craft has shaped communities for more than four centuries.

This event is part of Heritage Open Days but also a nationwide programme of live demonstrations hosted at many historic venues to celebrate The Lace Guild, the UK's leading organisation dedicated to the preservation and the promotion of bobbin lacemaking, marking its' 50th anniversary year!

Visitors will also be given the opportunity to have a go themselves and will have the chance to handle tools and materials too!

🌠Open call for local artists🌠

The Willis Museum and Sainsbury Gallery is calling out for artists living and working in Hampshire to share work inspired by the wonders of the night, which will form part of an exhibition in the Sainsbury Gallery.

All mediums welcomed, including painting, drawing, pastels, photography, printmaking, textiles, sculpture, mixed media and film.

🌠Who can enter?
The open call is for artists living or working in Hampshire.

There is also a free junior category for artists aged 17 and under. A parent or guardian must submit on behalf of junior entrants.

🌠How much does it cost?
Entry costs £3 per artwork. Entry to the Junior Category is free.

🌠When is the deadline?
Submit your artwork by 25 October 2026
