Congratulations to Emma and Hannah! 🌟
We are incredibly proud to share some wonderful news from last night's Essex Teaching Awards 2026. Two of our fantastic staff members were recognised for their hard work and dedication to our school community:

Emma was named the Winner of Teacher of the Year in a Special School.

Hannah was Highly Commended for Outstanding New Teacher of the Year.

Both awards are thoroughly deserved, and we are so grateful for everything they do for our students at Pioneer School.

Please join us in sending them both a huge congratulations! 👏

Hope everyone is having a good half term so far and staying safe from the heat. I don't do heat so I'm hiding indoors near a fan!

Thank you to everyone who has donated so far towards the ball/sensory garden refurbishment so far it's greatly appreciated.

We are having some silent auction hampers for the ball and are still looking for items to put finishing touches to.

Alcohol Hamper:

Any branded bottles of booze you may have or could donate.

Pamper/Beauty/spa:

New Perfumes, spa products, spa voucher etc

Days out hamper:

We have a lot of vouchers for local attractions but we are looking to add some snacks/drinks and maybe a picnic style basket to hold it all in and look presentable.

BBQ/Garden Party:

To go with the BBQ smoker we were donated, summer party items, games, snacks, meat voucher? BBQ accessories

Beach items:

thing you may take to the beach, towels, sun cream, toys, snacks etc.

We have an amazon wish list with items on that would be great or give ideas of what to buy if you can source cheaper elsewhere. (Amazon isn't always the cheapest for things but convenient!)

Even if it is just one thing it will all help to go towards our end goal. The less we have to purchase with existing funds the more we can raise to go towards the garden.

Even if you can share this post that even helps us reach a wider audience.

Last year Ethan, the brother of Alyssa who attends Pioneer ran 60 miles in May to raise funds for the red corridor of the school as his sister is in that corridor. He raised a fantastic £1,070 which was split between the classes.

This year he wants to run again but is running 100 miles instead. He wants the money to go towards the sensory garden refurbishment.

He's up to 65 miles already. If anyone would like to sponsor him we would be very grateful. All of the money will go in the sensory garden fund along with the money raised from the charity ball.

Thanks to those that have sponsored him already. We really appreciate it

Thanks to Regatta Garden Furniture who have donated this BBQ smoker oven for our silent auction hampers for our charity ball. We are looking for some BBQ /summer party themes to add to it.

So maybe a meat voucher from a butcher or supplier? Summer related drinks? Or summer themed decorations?

If you know of anyone to ask or could get anything for us that would be amazing. All donations will be thanked on our social media and promotional material.on the night.

We also have an amazon wishlist with things that we are looking for. If anyone would like to help us out.

Just over a month to go until our Charity ball at Stockbrook. So exciting!

Thank you so much to everyone that has bought tickets, donated in any way and shared our links, we really are grateful for all of the support so far.

We took over in 2019 and registered Friends of Pioneer School Community as a charity in order to have more fundraising opportunities.

Our daughter's have been at the school since a young age and we're forever grateful for the school and the support they have offered over the years.

We want to help make the school the best it can possibly be for our girls and all the other students there, which is why we do the fundraising events we do.

We totally understand that not everyone can attend the ball so we have some ways people can help us if possible. No matter how small.

We have a just giving link set up for any donations towards the garden or the nigjt of the ball. The less we have to take from initial funds the more we can raise.

We also have an amazon wishlist of items that will help towards our silent auction hampers on the night.

Or simply sharing this post or links will also be a way you can help.

We really are so grateful for the help we get from the local community. X x
