Thank You for Making Santa’s Sleigh Truly Magical
What an incredible festive season it has been. A huge thank you to everyone across Basildon who supported this year’s Santa’s Sleigh. From the excited waves and smiling faces to the generous donations and kind words, you helped turn our streets into something truly magical.
Thanks to your support, Santa’s Sleigh has helped hundreds of people across Basildon and raised thousands of pounds for local charities and good causes. Every penny donated helps us give back to our community, not just at Christmas, but throughout the year.
This year, Santa and his team were out spreading Christmas cheer for 9 magical nights, covering 21 miles of festive routes. Along the way, with low membership numbers, we have an amazing bunch of volunteer friends and family who gave up their evenings to help make the sleigh run smoothly. Between them, they walked an incredible 4,729,200 steps — all in the name of Christmas spirit.
Of course, no sleigh journey would be complete without a few festive treats. Santa enjoyed around 40 mince pies to keep him going, while Rudolph happily munched his way through a few carrots to stay sleigh-ready night after night.
If you missed Santa on his travels, or if you’d still like to add a little extra Christmas cheer, it’s not too late to donate. Donations remain open via our website or by text, and every contribution — big or small — makes a real difference to local lives.

Santa spotted on Heathleigh Drive!!

Tonight is our very last visit with Santa to Basildon when we tour Langdon Hills, starting at 6:30pm on New Avenue.

Come on out, wave to Santa 👋, sing 🎶 with us, dance with us 🕺and help spread Christmas joy to the streets of Langdon Hills on our last night.

In the words of Santa, if you possibly can, please dig deep in those pockets and purses for our annual Christmas Collection for those less fortunate in Basildon this Xmas.

This year James has tirelessly worked behind the scenes buying, sorting, wrapping and delivering over 400 presents - the only present some children will receive this year - along with food hampers, bedding, towels and so much more. So your generosity is supporting so many people in lots of different ways. It’s a mammoth task - thank you James ❤️

LEE CHAPEL SOUTH - THANK YOU!!

We managed the route in the two hours allotted - just!! Thank you to everyone who supported us tonight. We had a very warm welcome- we will be posting lots of photos very soon!! Loved the extra pit-stop for fuel and mince pies on Gaynesford and our usual friends on Fletchers - very, very much appreciated guys!!
