Yesterday evening one of our Trustees and their partner attended the annual Royal Naval Air Station Culdrose reception alongside a number of partner organisations and individuals.

We are very grateful to the Captain and his team for another wonderful year of support for our events and activities from the recent Big Breakfast at the base to the Routes of Remembrance events like Poppies to Paddington and the Ribbon of Poppies.

Bravo zulu / well done all on a wonderful evening and we look forward to working together again through the remainder of the year and into 2027.

Our friends at The Not Forgotten have sent us the following wonderful email about an exciting event they are hosting here in Barnstaple!

We are hosting an afternoon tea and entertainment at The Barnstaple Hotel, Braunton Road, Barnstaple EX31 1LE on Monday 22nd June from 1 pm - 4 pm and we would like to invite your veterans with a guest to join us for a fun afternoon of tasty food, great company and excellent music from Annie and Lloyd.

This is a wonderful opportunity to get out and socialise amongst like-minded veterans.

There is no cost to guests but we ask that you make your own way to the venue and back home.

Did you know that here at VCHQ in Barnstaple, we have The Veterans Depot, a superb meeting/event space which we opened last year?

Built by volunteers with funding from &Q, The National Lottery Community Fund and Devon & Cornwall Police Community Fund, the space boasts a fully equipped kitchen, meeting room which can seat up to 30 and state of the art audio/visual kit including projector, screen and a smart TV.

The building is accessible too with a wide entrance door and ramp.

If you are a Veteran or currently serving, you can make use of the space for FREE! We also offer very good rates for others so, if you are looking for a modern, comfortable and private space to host a meeting, therapy session or a training room, please get in touch via [email protected]

Today marks 44 years since the end of The Falklands War.

Please stop for a moment during your day to remember those who fell during the 10-week conflict and to think of those who still carry the scars of battle today.
