North Devon Hospice North Devon Hospice cares for local people affected by cancer and other incurable illnesses. We believe in being there for all the family.

North Devon Hospice provides free care and support to patients and their families who are faced with the impact of a life-limiting illness. Our doctors, nurses, counsellors, therapists and volunteers can offer what is needed at such a difficult time in the life of the patient and their family. The care provided throughout North Devon is because of the amazing generosity of our community. Together, we work towards raising over £6 million from scratch each year. Without this support we couldn’t provide our essential care to thousands of people across the whole of North Devon. About our page: This page is looked after by the Communications team. This August, Ilfracombe Round Table held their annual Soapbox Derby, choosing to support North Devon Hospice through this exciting event 🏎️

While the incredible cart creations were impressive enough, we were bowled over when hearing the news that the event had raised a whopping £4,000 - an incredible sum will help to provide round-the-clock care and comfort by funding a nurse on our Bedded Unit for FOUR WHOLE WEEKS 🙌

A massive thank you to the team at Ilfracombe Round Table for hosting this wonderful event and ensuring our nurses can be there for local people day and night 💫

When someone is facing a life-limiting illness, emotional support is a huge part of the wrap-around care we offer at North Devon Hospice. This comes from counsellors like Marcelle, who is a member of our fabulous Supportive Care Team 🩷

From offering one-to-one counselling to facilitating group therapy sessions, Marcelle is a friendly face and a listening ear not just for our patients but for their loved ones too. The kindness, care, and empathy she continually shows is what makes those in our care feel grounded and safe.

Marcelle is just one of the incredible people we're lucky enough to have as part of the team here at North Devon Hospice. Look out for our next Meet the Team intro, coming soon 👋

Two friends; one epic quest 🧙‍♂️

Earlier this year, Tom and Morgan took on a Lord of the Rings-inspired challenge and walked 100km across North Devon dressed as Frodo and Gandalf in memory of their dear friend Dan, who sadly died at just 35 after being diagnosed with cancer.

By taking on this challenge, not only did this fearless duo want to raise funds to support Dan's loved ones but they also wanted to give back to the hospice "in recognition of the incredible care and support provided to Dan and his family when they needed it most."

A HUGE thank you to Tom and Morgan for their amazing fundraising - the fellowship would be proud!
