The Bevern Trust is a Registered Charity that has been set up to support young adults with profound learning disabilities and their families.

We are The Bevern Trust. We are passionate about releasing people from the expectations others have about disability. We offer love, care, freedom and opportunity allowing profoundly disabled people to get more from life. The Bevern Trust is a Registered Charity that works to support young adults with profound learning disabilities, to research and develop new areas of support and campaign for a greater awareness of disability and its impact. Compassionate care is at the centre of The Bevern Trust and our home at Bevern View. Everything we do is based on each person’s strengths and gifts, whilst involving the most important people in their lives. As a charity we seek to reach out to more families who are living with profound disability and aspire to a time when every parent with a disabled child has a place like Bevern View that they can trust, where care, family and love come first, every day. The Bevern trust is in the heart of the Sussex countryside in the small village of Barcombe, not far from the historic town of Lewes, the City of Brighton & Hove and the towns of Eastbourne and Haywards Heath.

Only a few days to go before the Hamsey House open gardens and the 1st Dahlia competition!
Saturday 19th September is the place to be with your beautiful blooms. To take part simply drop your flowers off between 10-12pm. Judging takes place at 12pm and winners announced at 1pm. and will be judging your blooms.

£2 per entry for the Dahlia competition which includes entry to the garden.

🌸 largest flower head
🌸 vase of 3 uniform stems
🌸 best arrangement using mixed dahlias and foliage in a vessel of your choice!

For those not taking part in the competition, the garden will be open from 1pm until 4pm, with tea and cake being served all afternoon. It is £5pp to enter the garden between 1-4pm.

will also be in the Summer house selling bunches of flowers for you to take home.

Parking is at Hamsey Church car park then it’s a brief 10 minute walk along the lane.

Big thanks this month to Fi's Yard, a brilliant plant and flower centre in the heart of Lewes, known for quality plants, tools, and expert gardening advice.

Fi arrived with a van load of shrubs and flowers, donated for our garden at Bevern View - since planted out beautifully by our wonderful volunteers. We're so grateful for support like this from our local community.

Our very own Graeme S is lacing up his skates for a brilliant challenge and raising vital funds for The Bevern Trust along the way!
On Sunday 16th August, Graeme and his friends will be taking on a Skate Marathon at the legendary Castle Combe motor racing circuit in Wiltshire - home turf to some of the fastest wheels in the country!

Graeme is a dedicated rollerblader, who played ice hockey in Germany when stationed as a young soldier in the ‘70s and ‘80s, and more recently coached the Eastbourne Edge inline hockey team to many national and European championships. He now clocks up an impressive 30-40 miles every week, rollerblading for both the fun of it and to stay in top shape. Now he's putting all those miles to good use so let's get behind Graeme and cheer him on.

Well done to Sam and Nick H who climbed 3 peaks of Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Snowdon yesterday.

We are attempting climbing the famous 3 peaks in 24 hours, starting… NOW!
