We are so pleased to announce this year's Civic Award winners! Congratulations to:
🏆Wendy Baker who was nominated for her brilliant work at Landport Community Hub, running a wide range of sessions at the Hub, including the Play Scheme, multiple dance classes, and a craft and cooking club for home-educated children
🏆Shelia O'Sullivan who has shown long-standing dedication to promoting active travel in and around Lewes and has been a driving force behind Cycle Lewes
🏆Elijah Dyer who was nominated for his remarkable dedication, leadership and service to the local foodbank and the wider community
🏆Jenny Pigott who has volunteered at Lewes House of Friendship since 2009, working tirelessly across many aspects of the charity's day-to-day running
🏆Rob Hoy and Paul Oglesby have led St Michael's Table Tennis Club since its founding in 1991 and have created an inclusive, welcoming club where children, families, beginners and experienced players can all take part
🏆Angela Brinkhurst was awarded a Civic Award post posthumously as she made an enormous contribution to Lewes through her involvement in Lewes Athletics Club, Cliffe Bonfire Society, the Sussex Heart Charity, Wallands and Chailey schools, the Downs Syndrome Association, St Mary’s Sports, and many other local organisations.
