On Sunday, we came together as a community to celebrate the life of our dear friend and ambassador, Marko Govorčin ❤️

We want to say a heartfelt thank you to everyone who joined us, shared memories, and filled the room with warmth, music, and love. Your presence meant more than words can express.

Through stories, laughter, and song, and as we watched a special video remembering Marko, we were reminded of the extraordinary person he was — a musician who connected people across cultures, a passionate supporter of our mission, and above all, a kind and generous soul.

Marko gave so much to Our Kids Foundation over the years. His legacy lives on in every child he helped, every smile he inspired, and every moment of hope he created.

Remembering Marko

Following the news of the sudden passing of our beloved ambassador and dear friend, Marko Govorčin, as we know that Marko meant a great deal to many of you too, on Sunday 3 May, we will be hosting an intimate event to celebrate Marko’s life, his music, and the impact he made. This will be an opportunity for friends and supporters to come together, share memories, and honour a remarkable man.

The event will be held from 3pm-8pm at The Rocket (11-13 Churchfield Road, Acton, London, W3 6BD). Food and drinks will be available to purchase from the venue.

We warmly welcome anyone who wishes to join us. There is no need to let us know in advance whether you are coming, but if you have any questions please feel free to contact us at [email protected]

We look forward to seeing many of you there. In the meantime, our thoughts remain with Marko’s family, friends, and all who are feeling his loss.

It is with profound sadness that we share the news of the sudden passing of our beloved Ambassador and dear friend of Our Kids, Marko Govorcin.

Marko was the heartbeat of Our Kids Foundation. Since 2009, he has dedicated his life and music to our Foundation, performing 52 times across Europe, from the intimate stages of London, Salzburg and Rotterdam to the streets and 'kafanas' of Mostar. He was a man who sang the world’s languages, singing in over twenty tongues, from Chinese to Spanish to French to English. Yet, he didn’t need words to be understood; with just a guitar and his magnetic personality, he found the rhythm and soul of everyone he met.

Like Mostar’s Stari Most, Marko was a bridge. He connected hearts across borders, turning his music into a lifeline that raised funds and hopes for those who needed it most. The melody of his kindness and the rhythm of his spirit will echo forever in the lives he transformed, the feet he encouraged on the dancefloor and the voices he raised in song.

Počivaj u miru, dragi Marko. Your spirit, generosity and huge humanity remains in our hearts.
